Thanks, that worked. And now I just need to figure out a way to have 40 villiager turn into zombies when I kill Mannoroth, or Kel'Thuzad, or Azgalor. I can only get it to work 1 at a time.

I think I'm going a little overboard with the difficulty. 4 Infernals, lv10 Mannoroth, 8 zombies, plus 30-40 more zombies upon Mannoroths death.
But this is just my trigger practice map.

you could make a trigger that said pick each villager in a region and do your "turn villager into zombie script" You have to use "picked unit" when you do a "pick each unit in group and do..." trigger.

Let's talk about the basic information used on units.
First of all, the field which says something like "Animations Required". It generally has "first" or "second" and "upgrade" for buildings that have upgrade options. What are these values referring to? Are the parameters of the building model? What other values are useful for this field?

Also, I would greatly like to use the High Elven towers (as per the Undead campaign) in a map buildable by the player. However, these towers apparently don't have a "build" animation, so it simply shows the peasant hacking away at air. This is a problem because the building is not selectable until it is finished. Thus, the player can't see how far along it is, and if the peasant is killed he cannot resume building. Is there a good way to add a build animation to the building? I thought that the "Animations required" field might help, but I don't understand how to use it, if so.

I am creating a map that has a building that gnolls are suppost to come out off when you are near about every 3sec when you destroy the building gnolls are suppost to stop appering How do you make that happen

also at the beggining off the map i want it so you can sellect your hero from 4or5 choices then you get teleported to where the level begins HELP

How do you do this

heya, i got the basics and a good deal of the advanced in my head about the map editor...
But...
is there a list i can get for creating spell effects on Units/Regions,
i can only use the one that it supplys me with (i think its thunderclap that they all start with) coz i dont have a clue how to write the string for another one.
its abit of an awkward question coz its hard to phrase, but if you can help i will be much obliged

Lance_Red: Make a region around the building.
Make a trigger that check for the building and the unit in the region. So every 3 seconds if building is alive and unit is in region then create X bad dudes at center of region.

To do this I made a building that trained 4 different heros and then when one was trained the building blew up.

I don't know how to answer, sorry.

if this helps, this is the base string it gave me for thunderclap:

Special effect - create special effect at (Center of region 000 <gen>) using Abilities\spells\human\thunderclap\thunderclapcaster.mdl

The string in this colour is the one that i want to find more of

if you could give me a URL to some of them or list how i could define them or summit to help i would much appreciate it

Another question i want to make it so that when you enter an area you can not leave it until you kill the boss and also after you kill the boss another pathway opens up

Also i want to creat a wastland area in the map how would you make it so that when one of your units enter an area there life slowly goes down until they exit like 1hp every 1.5 sec

Give me very easy to follow instructions

The following information might be of use to those of you
attempting to use the "Special Effect - Create Special Effect
On Unit" trigger action. The first parameter for this action
is an attachment point name, which is a string value that you type
in manually.

One or more modifiers can be added to an attachment point name to
specify the exact location to which you want to attach the special
effect. These modifiers are optional, and are not defined for all
units and attachment point names. Example attachment point names:
"overhead", "hand", "hand left", "foot
right mount rear".

Attachment Point Names:
overhead (floats over the unit's head, but doesn't sway with
the head as it animates)
head (sways with the unit's animation)
chest
origin (usually at the base of a unit's feet)
hand
foot
weapon (for heroes)
sprite (for buildings)
medium (for buildings)
large (for buildings)

I already asked this question before but no one replied and the things that you ppl said before didnt help. How do you give someone gold when they kill a unit. For example when you kill any unit or building the amount of gold that you recive from killing that unit appears above that dead unit when you kill it. I already went to the unit editor and tried the bounty thing and i made the unit a neutral hostile but it didnt work

i did you same thing and it worked just great for me

i have a new q how do you make it so that when you start playing the game the second team is com,norm,brown,undead
i have played maps that so as you start it is unedible and is always that

so a couple of post back for the rest of my questions

Hmm i think.. its in palyer properties... but i might be wrong.. i havent mesed with the editor in a very long time.. i have no good ideas for a map.. or else it would be really popular lol.. if you got ideas private message me ill give u credit for the idea...
