I'm not going to read through all these posts, but I'll assume everyone is just going to be blaming netter like on ever other site.

We can pretty much just summerize up this post with: It's not HIS fault, It's YOUR fault.
You took the risk, you got owned.
If you didn't know you could get banned for hacking... damn, you're dumb.

I've made numerous warning posts, such as this one:

This is clean from what I see, but I still recommend you don't use this if you value your CD-Key(s)/Account(s).
Maybe not because of Netter, but other reasons.

But obviously no one listened.

What I'm trying to get at is that you shouldn't make him look bad at something that was your fault.

He did a great job with his maphack, but as far is it being "undetectable", that's obviously wrong.

I made the warning, but people didn't see it I guess.

@ the idea of bruting your account back - you cant bruteforce a d2 account. the account now gets locked down after 5 (give or take) incorrect attempts instead of giving out an IP ban (like the good old days). no IP ban = no use for proxies = not bruteable (unless you get the pass right within the first 5 attempts -_-)

@ people needing cd keys. too tired to check the rules too see if this is allowed but either

a) to go walmart with pen and paper or better yet, a camera phone, open up the box and help yourself to a brand new cd key. at my local walmart d2 isnt kept behind the glass like lots of other games because its hella old.

b) register in the gameinfinte forums and get 250 gold (posts) without spamming and buy a pair of keys off the site admin.

doesnt matter if blizzard accidentely clicked the delete button on someone elses account by accident, closed basically = deleted. Your character no longer exists. I guess it's their way of not having to go back, saying there is no way. Not having to put work into finding your account or restoring it, It's much easier to say "sorry, account closed cannot be restored".
