American had air and naval superiority in Iraq. I don't see them winning the war that easily.

US has probably the best military as long as the enemy is not hiding. The US military has not adapted well to guerilla style warfare.

Because of this it would be a bad idea for the US to enter into a war with China if we weren't willing to kill a few civilians.

As for who the best soldiers are/were, samurai>all.

If US threatens China with their military. China will probably resort to terrorist attacks until US surrenders.

There are very few, if any, Chinese terrorists in this world.

99% of Chinese in China are far too poor to acquire even dynamite.*

Wait a second....Tronga Monga, your saying that american navy seals won't do the same things as British and Portugese navy seals? Do you know the British/Portugese training for the navy seals? How about the American navy seals for that matter? Seriously.....you have no clue.

Secondly, Of course some American navy seals can't do the things British/Portugese navy seals do. Also, some of the British/Portugese navy seals can't do the same as the American navy seals can. I fail to get your point.

Actually 90% of people in China are above the poverty line.

Now let's see abou 1,306,313,812 people in China.

That's about 1.18 billiion people above the poverty line.

Yeah. US will surrender when a thousand terrorist attacks happen in one day.

Well, since there are portuguese and british doing the Navy Seals training, but there are no americans doing at least the portuguese training because it's too inhuman, I must say I am correct. Navy Seals can't compare to SAS (best elite force in the world), and are only compared to the Lamego Rangers because of the ammount of equipment and ammunation they can have.

-Care to show me a source?

You have not seen a Navy seal train...nor a british or portugese one neither. So you don't know if they are the best or not.

I don't have time to find sources now, and I think I made a mistake when I mentioned the SAS. That wasn't what I meant. But be sure that the American special forces are not the strongest. Either military and civilian (SWAT).

The SAS are the most elite in the world, second to the Austrilians trained by them I believe followed by either the Navy S.E.A.Ls or Delta Force. The Special Air service are just better trained I'm afraid. I believe the Canadian JTF2 are supposed to be good along with some German SF.

The British Gurkha's are ****ing lovely, they did great in the falklands. I also kinda admire the Spetznaz(and other Russian SF), they are defintely not one of the best equiped but there sheer resilience and ruthlessness is amazing. The Russians aren't pussy when it comes to harsh training.

Actually, China funds about 50% more into military than Japan does. Not to mention China has larger army than Japan.

And how you use it.

I tried to search for that ranking about special forces, but all I got was some game called Special Forces. Damn it.

More funding most likely means more researching on better military weapons.

Rofl tronga :p. Talk to people who have trained with various SFs, a lot of them say that the Americans are afraid to push you and they seem soft. Just discuss with people that know what the hell they are talking about and research some missions from each.

The isrealis are considered extremely good as they get butt****ed by terrorists and palestines often and have a hell of a lot of real action experience.

In China's case, more funding means that their starting to raise a decent, second rate army from scratch, and to achieve that its cost a lot of money. In comparison, the West, along with Russia, spend all our military budget in R&D and maintenance, not in actual expension of the army itself.

Heck, I'll be damned in the Chinese can afford to make much R&D, while expending their army and maintening what they already have.

China’s armed forces are undergoing a massive transformation. All of it seems directed at giving China the ability to take Taiwan by forces. In the last five years, China has reduced the size of its armed forces by over half a million troops, and retired thousands of older aircraft, tanks and ships. At the same time, a force of over 300 modern fighters has been purchased from Russia, or built under license in China (with a lot of parts from Russia.) A similar program is underway with the navy, but with more new warships incorporating Russian technology. This includes the construction of many more amphibious ships. China’s shipbuilding industry has been thriving for over a decade, and those resources were available for the recent spurt of amphibious shipbuilding.

While the armed forces still rely on a lot of conscripts, several hundred thousand officers and NCOs have undergone training to make them more professional, and better able to deal with new technology, and better trained troops. Billions of dollars has been spent on training exercises, including amphibious training for over a dozen combat divisions.

Much money has been spent on new communications equipment, and China has organized a cyberwar capability. The communications improvements are tied into the civilian economy, giving China more ability to mobilize the civilian economy for wartime support. This improves China’s ability to invade Taiwan, because there has been enormous growth in China’s coastal and high seas shipping industries. These ships can be mobilized for military use, if China has the planning and communications to make it happen. Increasingly, they do.
The Chinese are a emerging superpower and soon whether the U.S likes it or not it will again be a 2 superpower world.
