don't hate yourself :( it isn't easy. I'm sure you have been smoking for a long time and it is hard to give up something that has been a part of your daily life for years.

I had a friend who quit smoking by temporarily smoking a herb called lobelia. You can get it at most natural food stores. It's much like tobacco, but without most of the toxins, and it isn't addictive. He just smoked that to subside the cravings and after the nicotine was gone from his system he didn't need it anymore.

Chantix

I had a friend who used it, but he didn't quit smoking. He just smoked more because he couldn't feel the nicotine.

After staying in Rome for two weeks, i now realise how effing disgusting smoking is. Everyone in Rome smokes. I hate it, it's the most disgusting habit in the entire world and i honestly can't wait until the only place you can smoke is in your own house.

Yeah i know i sound like a huge douche and a selfish prick to boot, but i passively smoked so fucking much in Rome, i'll be dead before the day is out!

keep trying. little by little.

instead of going your max period first off try to stop smoking for 1 hour. then after a smoke, try for 2 hours, have 2 smokes if youre feeling the strain. have 1 if youre feeling up to it. try for 3 hours and then 4.

if you keep this up you might quit smoking. self discipline is the key. you must not break your disicipline once. its tough but think of it as a challenge and go for it.

That's what I have done. Once I got to 3 a day I stoped buying smokes.. That isn't to say I don't still want them...

that might be it. I guess it has a low success rate but works a lot better when paired with an anti-depressant. The first time he tried to quit it didn't work but then he got put on the drug and an anti-depressant and it's been working for him

Uncle_Vanya, I used to smoke a pack a day and started
chewing gum in an attempt to stop smoking and ended
up chewing gum as I was smoking.

You have to quit cold turkey. I know it sounds hard but
you just have to grin and stay away from certain people
or situations that make you want a smoke.

Sorry, there's one more thing I forgot to add...
Not to bring you down or anything and I'm only saying
to sort of warn you but even after you quit you will still
want a smoke. I still do, my husband still does and I
have friends who still do. Just keep busy and proud
that you did it and good luck in the meantime. Cheers.

just quit cold turkey and get a hobby, try the guitar.

I've quit twice and now i can go as long as i want without another one.
i still smoke cigs occasionally when I'm stressed. more of a mental habit than an actual need. haven't been addicted to them again for about 2 years.

Sorry, I don't follow. I don't understand the purpose of
trying to quit to begin with if you still plan to smoke.

And wouldn't actual quiting be coping with
stressful situations without having a smoke?

Just trying to understand how this all fits together.
