I really don't have a strict defintion for a newb, I mean people can play a game in one way and never learn to play it differently until someone else beats them down and they are kind of forced to try and change tactics. I personally have never been called a newb, but sometimes people could call me one because I choose to remain ignorant of some parts of a game because I do not explore games enough to be able to use all the features. A lot of you would probably say that makes me a newb, but in reality that is the way I am, many times I do things one way for a long time, and it is not until way down the road that I realize that their is a simpler or easier way to do things. Maybe it comes from a lack of common sense, as my friends would sometimes say. But I guess a persons view of what a newb is depends on if the person wants to just bash someone with name calling. It is used more as a bad name and people should realize that not everyone is a genius at games and that some people learn games slower than other or don't improve as much. For me, I can play a game and be good at it, and I will improve some, but usually I am stuck either sucking at a game or being mediocre. That doesn't make me a newb, it just means I suck at the game. There is a big difference between a newb who sucks at a game and a vet who sucks at a game. I would urge everyone to be more "compassionate" toward newbs so they actually might learn something from your advice. I am one of those people who will try to help you, that is unless you think you are god when you actually aren't that good. Basically, I want people to be less rough with someone if they don't know something about a game or anything else, some people are just ignorant(or sometimes stupid).
