yeah, i don't know why "newb" is a derogatory title now, i mean we all had to start somewhere and we were all there, at some point. oh, and i just wanted to know, when was the first time you played a game and what was it? for all of you, i'll start....i was 3 or so in california playing gorillas on a horrible old computer that crashed often. fyi, gorillas is an old qbasic game in which you try and hit the other person (avatar is a gorilla) with your banana by judging its trajectory. it was played on a cityscape with deformable terrain. ah, those were the days......

I don't know why a bad player is always called a newb. Sometimes it's not even a bad player that gets called a Newb. Usually in losing situations you're called a newb because you supposedly didn't put out to the standard that the person is calling them a newb, thought they should be.

I'm a level 10 and I still get called a newb. It pisses me off to all hell, I've played over 200 games, probably closer to 300 and people still call me a newb.

Yes, we've all been there. Supposedly some of us still are.

A newb isn't judged by how much you've played or your wins/losses. If a complete newb went to the store and bought the game then came home and his 1st time playing he becomes the world champ in SC, would you consider him a newb? Newbism is judged by skill not records.

it's used as an insult, like bitch or assmonkey, or even <insert preferred epithet here>. if you beat someone, they get pissed at you and call you horrible and stupid, while THEY are the ones who suck.

The only people who deserve to be called newbs are the people who play like them, instance: last night silynt skele and myself were in a 3v3 on WC3, this kid teched fast, we rushed we won of course, next game a 4v4 with pan this time, some how we got matched up with that SAME kid and another new partner, that kid did the EXACT same thing, although the game was longer we still won...why play the same vs. the same people?? i found that to be quite newb...maybe that's his only tactic...that'd be even worse

I teach newbs all the time. As a matter of fact I am the clans recruit trainer. I do all the hard stuff like teaching them effective spell uses and counters, but I rarely protect a newb unless he is a friend of mine or he isn't an ass while I play.

And newbs learn by example better than they do if you just tell them, that is one of the reasons I BS.

And finally, I'm making a newbie training map for complete newbs who don't even know what a tech tree is, so far it is coming along pretty good, but I always get confused when it comes to adding switches and stuff like that so I need some help from someone who knows how to use switches without getting completly confused.
