Careful, JKar might just come in here and give us his take.

You know, him obsessing over being a dragon and all. Almost as much as BFF.

Personally, I'm mostly annoyed at how they made the dragons into nothing more than their rider's bitch.

It's nothing short of a slight against dragons, one of the most amazing fantasy genre creatures in existance.

That ****tarded teen. -_-

It's obviously the actor's fault for how the story turned out. It surely can't be the writers. Definitely not.

No, that's the director's fault for directing such shit. The writer's fault for crappy writing. And the actor's fault for crappy acting.

If it was going to make the book look bad, why didn't he speak against the movie?

Because he cares more about money than his book? Because he signed over creative control? There are plenty of reasons he let it go as it did

I hate to say it, but you are right. As I stated earlier, it should have never gone beyond the book. When you do a visual representation of a novel, you have to do EVERYTHING right, and well. Lord of the Rings was a fine example. The book's rating and opinion was mixed; there were many who liked it, and many who hated it. Then when the movie got created, it was like the best thing ever. Although it was 3 hours and all each.

Eragon is a bad example of adaptation. But the director was his first time, and he didn't piece together well the elements too well. Plus the entire story was an extremely derived plot, even the second book is. And the movie made it much more so. However, we can't really do something about it, because he got away with millions still.

If I had it my way, I would have done the whole thing in either anime or CGI, or tell the director to reconsider.

As for the story, I would have written it so that Eragon had to protect the dragon infant from the empire. And he learns on his own how to fight and save it. Then he meets the trainer and all out of coincidence, and then the story flows normally. That would eliminate the reference of the Star Wars plot. The LOTR part can't be helped, but he could have used something else besides Elves and Dwarves, or made up his own tongue for them.

@Morningstar: Stop spamming the same thing over and over. We know BFH isn't the most friendly camper when people disagree with him using ignorance.

@BFH: It's just a movie/Book, quit getting pissed off and starting it. No offense, but the fact you are getting provoked so easily at the moment is what's causing Mike to act like this. Earlier, I was doing how the old Ranzokong does it: Constructive Criticism.

@Bastardsword: He's gay. You should know that by now.
