I'm not taking everything in the Bible literally because it isn't the word of God, it is man's interpretation of the word of God. That doesn't mean I'm not Christian. You honestly expect me to believe in and follow everything the Bible says? Yeah right. The Bible never once says that beating your wife is wrong, and it actually outlines for exactly how much you should sell your daughter into sexual slavery. Times have changed. The Bible just isn't all truth.

Forged, I get mistaken for a guy all the time, even in real life (but only during the 6 months or so when I had my hair short and spiked). You know, just in case you were wondering.

Green(Sphere), well as long as you're not just trying to piss me off I'd be happy to share my religious views with you ^_^

It's due in part to the way I was raised (my mom's a pastor so...yeah). However, it is still my choice to believe in God. When I look around I don't just see coincidence or synchronicity. I honestly believe that there has to be some supreme being who planned all this out. I believe in the death and resurrection of Jesus because science proves He exists and I believe the stories in the Bible of peoples' encounters with Him. I love God and Jesus because of the sacrifice that Jesus made for everyone. The concept that He would have died just for me blows my mind.

Anyway, to give a direct answer to your question....Faith. It's all about faith. I believe there's a God and I love Him

taking ideas out of a book is diffrent than basing your life around it.

I'm Catholic, because my parents are... I'll probably be agnostic later. Really, no idea.

I believe in evolution and all of that stuff, and yet have absolutely no idea how the universe could come into existence. But then, if there is a God, how was he created? It boggles the mind. Well, my mind...

i used to call myself atheist. i dont believe in any god, and until i see proof i wont believe in any god. yet i realize that if there is a god there would be no way at all for me to know about his existance. he could be real, how the hell would i know? i simply dont really care. i dont believe or worship any god, but i know it would be just as ignorant to say "god CANNOT exist" as it is to say "god DEFINATELY exists" so i call myself agnostic. maybe i should call myself an open minded atheist, who the **** cares.

been awhile since ive posted in arcane....

well im christian and i believe in jesus and God not only because i was raised that way but because i have felt touched by God and feel the influence it has on my life. Many of you say that you were raised christian and changed for whatever reason to athiest or whatever, but that cuz your faith is being tested. you will either find God again or not and stay athiest for the rest of your life.

Back up there someone said there is no such thing as Agnostic. There is. Think about it. Your mind (at least my mind) can think about more then one thing at once. I can listen in class and think about something else, but when I think about too many things I day dream. So it is possible to "say god is real and to say he's not" at the same time. Being agnostic is basically sitting on the fence, not leaning to either side.
