What does being popular at ur school mean

We don't really have a popular at FVHS.

We have the jocks....oh man that reminds me of how we lost The Bell. Now sit back, relax, pop some popcorn, and eat buttered popcorn, it's storytime!!!.

Anyway, Fountain Valley and Edison are rivals. There's this bell, which is know as....what else, The Bell. Anyway, each year, in October, we have a game called The Battle of the Bell. Well, we go all out for 'Edison Week' and people go crazy and the school is literaly covered in posters. Well, we did a 'funeral march' thing, pretending that Edison was the coffin, and we were going to 'kill them'. Well, we lost. yes ladies and gentlemen, after all the golden, padded, we'll win bullshit, WE LOSE!!!.

Oh man, I could not stop laughing when I found out we lost. My friend and I still joke about it.

Anyway, we all have little clicks, our own group of friends, but no really big groups. A lot of the same peolpe hang out, a lot of the asians all hang out together, not to be racist or aything.

well here at college there really isn't anyone considere popular.....hell half the people coem to school in their pj's...so its just a kiddy fashion thing to make them feel better but it will end once high school is over

They do that because they're different. There's many different types of styles people assume and declare themselves as. Say for instance, jockey's, goths, preps, nerds, etc. They look at you different and think of you as shit, maybe jealousy? Yeah. They probably like the way you have your hair, or your clothes, 'course.
They wont say it, but that's what's pretty much it.

Popularity doesn't exist at my school -- its College. From my experience, cliques and categories pretty much disintegrate after high school, perhaps not in one's hometown, but definitely on the college campus itself.

It was great to get away from it, that's for sure. I haven't even given one ounce of a thought to the subject in years but...

I can at least add something about what popularity was in terms of my old high school. Basically, you could only be a part of the "popular" group if you a) played a sport, or b) were a big-time slut who could afford Abercrombie clothes. I get the impression that this is basically the standard experience.

Ah...so good not to be a part of it all anymore

Name brands mean absolutely nothing, wealth should be proud of but not flaunted.

They dress like that because they like it, its their identification, like your expensive namebrands are yours.

-My friend is leaning towards punk, my other friend is leaning towards goth, neither of them have greasy hair. WFT? Your personal hygiene has nothing to do with what style you dress in, or to what clique of people you hang around with.

And they probably talk about you as if you were scummy because you say things like you said above

at our school everyone who could be popular call themselves dorks, its really more of a popular dork group and there all asian chicks. its weird
and theres a huge group of punks(posers)
the library people that never go outside

our "group" is just a skater, an azn guitar dude, a crappy skater and guitar dude, a bladder/drag racer wanna be, a sesitive mexican dude, a scrawny white guy, and a few asian chicks...and only 2 of us like rock(*sniff*)
