Nastia looked ****ing pissed.I've been watching gymnastics. America was getting screwed over. China is clearly cheating. Especially when Nastia and that 13 year old tied and they did some screwed up method of a tie breaker and gave it away to the 13 year old.
The Australian judge was terrible. They gave the Chinese girl a much higher score than she deserved. They shouldn't have even been tied in the first place or Nastia should have taken the tie breaker. It was noticeable by the untrained eye that the Chinese girl made more mistakes - which she did- but some weren't as noticeable. The announcers even said that she made more mistakes - not all noticeable - but what were noticeable were more so than all of Nastia's. One of the Chinese girls was proved to be 13 by Chinese newspapers. I'm not sure which one. Probably all of them. Fake passport and everything but it's not like the Chinese police will do anything or that she'll be disqualified. You think China are cheating? Great Britain are resorting to Stone Age tactics...

N.B. I thought He should have won the uneven bars ahead of Liukin, as He was very, very tidy although Liukin was flashy. Perfection is rated a lot higher in gymnastics. He won by a second tiebreaker. Nastia's score correct, says beleaguered judge - Gymnastics - Sports - Olympics
That said, I abhor the current scoring system for gymnastics - it encourages gymnasts to take risks and fall on your face as you aren't penalised high enough. One gymnast did something awesome but was nearly half a turn away from landing properly, and landed on his face - he finished 4th in the final, and the score for his botched vault attempt was 1.5 points lower than his outstanding first attempt.
And as an afterthought, He Kexin is not 16. No 16-year-old looks like that, quite frankly. Her age was a matter of controversy anyway, but does anyone here honestly think she's 16?

I watched the event, and I think that He was very good and had a very clean routine. Liukin had a more spectacular one but the little things that matter - legs parted slightly, knees slightly bent, slightly wonky on the bars - all these matter. Gymnastics is about perfection rather than fancy. There was very little to fault about He's performance besides her landing and one or two dead moments. The Australian judge was terrible. They gave the Chinese girl a much higher score than she deserved. They shouldn't have even been tied in the first place or Nastia should have taken the tie breaker. Then you got the case where the Chinese girl won a medal by landing on her knees. She shouldn't have even been close to a medal. She didn't even land correctly. It's one thing to stumble but she landed on here knees.
The Chinese themselves may not be cheating, but some people behind the scenes obviously are. Nobody could watch either of the above instances and believe they ruled right in either occasion. Yeah, the new judging system is terrible.
I apologise. The Australian judge was terrible. They gave the Chinese girl a much higher score than she deserved.
what everyone wondered but wern't asking...i just hope i dont see male gymnists doing this...burly men with huge shoulders and rippling biceps.meh nothing going on much in gymnastics
yep nothing at all
And as I said before, it's the small things that count.*what everyone wondered but wern't asking...i just hope i dont see male gymnists doing this...burly men with huge shoulders and rippling biceps.
i watched the gymnastics a few times and it did seem like there were times that the chinese gymnasts made mistakes and were still awarded unfair points.
which is true about every other gymnastAnd as I said before, it's the small things that count.*
The chinese did hard routines. You could **** up a difficulty routine and still do as well as a perfect but a bit easier routine. Because 3 backflips and a full turn is that much harder than 3 backflips and a half turn or whatever the **** those little girls were doing.what everyone wondered but wern't asking...i just hope i dont see male gymnists doing this...burly men with huge shoulders and rippling biceps.

That's the big question: what is more important? Doing difficulty routines are doing routines well? Obviously doing both will net you a high ranking, but usually it comes down to one or the other and that is where you get a grey area that people are complaining about.isnt that the point of doing a hard routine? the risk of mistakes vs big payoff
