Well, i'll input what i think, whether or not you decide to read it :)

Problem # 1 - If you really want to pursue the career, then your only option seems to be going interstate to find the job. Sometimes you have to take the risk and get out of your comfort zone. And who knows, it might be the best move you ever make.

Problem # 2 - I'm not having a go at you here. But did you ever stop to think about the boyfriend that's in the Army? And his feelings? I'm sure you wouldn't like the reverse situation to happen to you.

In the end, it's all up to you, but really think about moving interstate, it video-game design is a passion of yours, don't miss the opportunity to take it with both hands. I know it's hard with all your friends, but sometimes not everything does go as you planned, and that's just reality.

Here's the deal for problem number one:
1) Download a really top-notch modelling program (ie. Lightwave, Maya, 3DS Max).
2) Get a book on how to use it. You can either buy a book or download an ebook.
3) Get kick-ass with the modelling program.
4) Find an online vendor for selling models.

I'm being totally serious. If you learn how to create really good looking models (preferably textured) people will buy them like hotcakes. My dad's made about 100 dollars in a couple months, and no offense to him, but he's not even all that good.

1. I. Don't. Read. It's just not something I can keep doing long enough.

2. 100$ in a couple months isn't enough to support yourself with..
