how hard is jap really?

There are a ton of good articles on the internets about this but I'd say it's moderately difficult. One thing I've noticed is that their limited phonetic system is more of a bad thing because all of their words sound the same. We sometimes have two words that sound the same (knight and night) but in Japanese it can be like 4 or 5... it periodically pwns me.

Speaking is easy but its not a monotone language as some people have called it.. there's a flow to the language that you can only pick up by going there I think.

Easier than Chinese.
