Okay. Then I supposed when a Sony spokesperson had this to say Sony's website missed their cue? I also notice the release date of the article, "Posted Feb 27, 2006 2:29 pm PT". The article you presented has no post-date. It was likely made months ago, but there can't be any proof of that without said post-date.

I don't know the exact date but i'm sure it's frorm this year, most probably during CES.

There is a possibility, but i still doubt they'll release it later than that. It'll just give M$ and Ninty an opportunity to create a huge gap in sales and make costumers lose their faith and interest in Sony. but that's just my honest opinion, not a fanboyish one. The article talks about possible delay in the delivery of parts for the PS3, but i've read a recent article from IGN i think stating Sony has started finalizing their OEM orders.

I don't trust IGN as a news source, at least by itself.

I also would like to reinterate that Nintendo has stated that they are no longer competing with either Microsoft or Sony. They don't want to make the huge media system that does everything but a raw gaming system. It doesn't matter how much of a lead Nintendo does or doesn't have, and Sony very much knows that. What matters is Microsoft.

It is being speculated that most households will own a N5R either the PS3 or 360 because of the price-point, if they own more than one system anyway. Myself, I'll have a N5R and PS3...after the later sees a few price-drops.

Hot off the presses, folks, the PlayStation 3 won't be out until November of this year. That's in Japan and North America, the first-ever worldwide launch for Sony. We've got scads of new info on the powerful new console, straight out of Sony's press conference that just ended in Japan. How about the newly announced 60GB hard drive, preloaded with Linux and possibly included in every PS3 out of the box? Then there's the Xbox Live-style online service, complete with media downloads, competitive gaming, and all that fun stuff. I don't think this delay really surprises anyone who's been paying attention in recent months--the Blu-ray format is still being hashed out, and of course they can't launch the console without finalizing its game storage medium first. At least it's nice to know where things stand, finally. Now how much is it gonna cost?

That's good news for those like me who plan to get it but only after a pricedrop or two and used, updated versions are available.
