Rofl killer900. I do agree with you on this. It's great that they
want to share this with their children and all but they also have
to still be a parent. Those poor children are going to be having
nightmares. I wonder why those parents wouldn't think to wait
to show the children that when they get a little older. Even if both
the rapture and the end of the world were to happen tomarrow
those children are young enough to be let right into heaven.

MacMan, I still haven't seen it yet so I can't comment on that
yet other than to say that no one is pointing a finger at anyone.
It's doing nothing more than showing what happened.

Jesus was a Jew not a Goth, sorry.

Also, Cobalt Wolf, you arguing your point just proves Dusties point on contraversy. If you read all of this imagen how much is floating about elsewhere.

You are completely missing the point.
The Jews nor the Romans "killed" Jesus, he died by choice. He did not die because of the multitudes gathered there that day, he died for us all; everyone from the beginning to the end of time. I killed him just as much as the guards who bound and beat him. It was our sins.

I cannot understand why men of high religious stature argue over this point. It is irrelevant. The point lies elsewhere, you just have to think on a deeper level.

Quit the spam jackalopes, it isn't accurate at all and we'll never see a accurate film of it, its just impossible. I haven't seen the film myself but I wouldn't put it past mel to add bits and take away some to make it a bit interesting.

The film is accurate to the Book.
Being truly accurate historically is a different arguement.

And dont criticize Gibson when you havent seen the movie. Very minor parts may have been tweeked, but nothing contradictory. If it had, it would be all over the media.

I was just saying I wouldn't put it past a movie star to make something more glamorous, over here I think the film is unheard of, noone cares about it I guess.

EDIT: Colbalt please reframe from using that style of writing, even though it makes it look like you wrote more. Its just not nice to read and you put words like "they" in place of one line so it would appear that the word is important.

EDIT: Ah I see it looks like that when your favourite bar is up.

Our sins died on the cross with Jesus.
That is why he died - so that our sins would.
Our sins had to be washed away with blood and that is why
God sacrificed his only son, because he loved us so much.

DeathRingerTheSilent, mind pointing out
to me how I am contradicting myself?

And ORC-r0x0r-ROC, what the hell are YOU talking about?
Please refrain from trying to sound judicious and just do it.

God, I hate a argument over religion, you just have to be the one to look it up in the book quicker. :rolleyes

Look at it with a search or favourites bar at the side and you'll realise why I said that.

EDIT: Odd.. It looks the same way (without the favourites bar) on the laptop.

You contradicted yourself by arguing with Dustie. You argue that you don't see the point of arguing because Mel didn't want contraversy in the first place.

I cried watching it (yes t.a.t.u97 has feelings too)

At the end some guy stood up and offered to save people and did the sinners prayer, etc. I thought it was a gr8 movie and the Devil in it was spooky as hell!

I thought it was very well put together except way too gory. I had to shut my eyes on the nailing of the cross. The part where they whip him with the flail thingy and it like ripped his back and made a noise was terrible. I was just REALLY scared of the devil in that movie.

Jesus sells. Controversy sells. Violence sells. Only thing these guys have left out is sex. Which is why, I'm going to take a bunch of my money, and make a Jesus porn.

"Hey baby, you wanna get "saved?"

Why don't you write him an email and see what he has to say? lol
Why don't you tell me what I'm doing to my text that I didn't do in my last post?

The Passion of the Christ, as I'm assure many of you know, is being heralded as on of the most contreversial movies of, at least, the last decade. Mel Gibson directed it, and it has been stated that he is putting his "Hunk of Hollywood; Action Hero" career on the line.

Mel Gibson has stated that he doesn't really care about either. Staring in such movies as Die Hard and Die Hard with Avengeance, he admited, drove him to drugs and, even, disregarding his own family. He has told many people, and especially recently, that his very Christian wife stood by him as any Christian wife should. She stood with him, even in the worst of times. Mel Gibson admits that that, and the Love of Christ, saved him from he destructive habits. His own words, so it is indisputable.

However, his recent directing job has taken criticism from, just about, everyone.

Christian: too violent
Jew: repeat, anti-semetic
Aethiest: uh? it's a historically accurate film of one of religions most prominent figures...what's not to complain about?

I'd go on, but it really gets pointless in the end. What Mel Gibson has said to all of this is quite interesting. When asked about the violence, he said that he was trying his best to accurately depict the last 12 hours of Christ's life. He said, "If it's too violent, you don't have to see it. If you go and think it's too violent, I won't be offended if you leave."

I'd answer the "anti-semetic" question with this. Christians observe an "Ash Wednesday" during Lent. In this ceremony, we prepare for "Good Friday". We are given nails, and we are read the events leading up to that day. Everybody who liked Christ in any way, form, shape, or fashion are starting to be turned against Christ. This is GOD's doing. I was taught that I was one of those who nailed Christ's hands and feet to the cross. It was my sins and my hatred of those sins that drove Christ to his death. It was also my own hand, as well as millions of others, who put those nails, the throrn of crowns, and the spear into Him.

I am going to see this movie. I also would like to discuss it here. It will be released next Wednesday (not today). I don't know when I'll see it, but I will. I wouldn't recommend the weak of constitution to see it as it is quite bloody, violent, and, possibly, gorey.

Later! I'm out!
~~BAM the DOC

I have recently seen this movie, and I agree with Mel. If you go expecting to see some teletubbies running across the screen, and don't want to see blood and see how it was when Jesus was scourged, then don't go. I believe it is accurate.
