So broken arrow, its okay to make documentaries about many things, but when a big star movie actor directs a movie about actual events that transpired...what, does this not count as a documentary? its bad to make a documentary?

The ignorance in this thread is overwhelming. Religion exists, period. It is a deity that cannot be proven.

Religion = belief.

You people are essentially saying that belief doesn't exist. Find a dictionary, before it's too late.

I would have said the same, but I knew what BA was trying to say, so it would have been irrelevant. :\

He said religion and meant it to be God, I think.

I love how closer and closer till when movies coming out all these differant news programs/enterainment programs and papers are making a bigger and bigger deal outa movie. Its allready a hit just because of all the hype generated for it when alot of people wouldn't of thought twice about a movie like this if every damn form of media wasn't mass spamming about it.

It is not anti jew. The jews of that time physically killed Jesus, but did so because he, in their eyes blasphemed their God. That was a thing clearly punishable by death. In their position, it would be hard to say whether I would have had the faith to believe what Christ said, so we all must be careful in being to swift to condemn the Jews. The biblical account really does not knock the jews any worse than the romans, and if it is accurate as the pope says, than it doesn't portray jews any worse than the Bible itself does. Now, if the Jews don't like being portrayed as the bad guys, they'd better exhume shakespeare, and give him shit about shylock in the merchant of venice. and with that logic, the Indians could complain for a loooong time about how they were hated and discriminated against in all the cowboy movies. The truth of the matter is the same: the Indians did kill the settlers, for perfectly valid reasons. The Jews physically killed Christ; every Christian believes this, but to my knowledge very few Christians hate Jews because of it. It's simply a fact, that happened over 2000 years ago. Everyone needs to quit whining.

That's an iditotic statement, and bigotted as well. Perhaps you should leave the serious debate to us mature people.

Find me some credible evidence of this conspiracy please.

Some media moguls who coincidentally aren't Jewish; Jack Welch (Retired) and Michael H. Jordan, CEOs, respectively, of G.E. (NBC) and Westinghouse (CBS); Rupert Murdoch (who owns Newscorp); John Malone, CEO of TCI, the nation's largest cable company; maverick globalist Ted Turner; and many more. And lest we forget the man who touches more people in a day, than most people do in a lifetime, Mr. Bill Gates, again, not Jewish.

So again, find me some credible evidence of this theory of yours. Then I'll retract my statement, but until then you're still a bigot. And to be honest, what's wrong with Jews anyway?

I think even if you aren't christian the whole message that can be gained from this is that someone believe enough in the human spirit to give his life for it. That's worth something. Even though some might not see it through the gory display but I guess it's like a Tarantino film where that, instead of becoming meaningless, only adds to the plot as a whole in the end.

My only personal beef with this whole situation is the insensitive a-hole that is Mel Gibson's father. I believe he said something along the lines that "I don't believe the Halocaust really happen". I guess I wouldn't have a really big issue with that because one may have looney parents and realize that fact but Gibson said he never believed his father would lie to him. :rolleyes

What you saw was the truth, at least as close to the truth as would be possible. Jesus was beat and whipped, kicked, hit, and flogged. Topping it off, he was crucified and a spear thrown in his side.
The ironic thing is, is that people dont want to see the truth, they want to think it was all perfect and beautiful. It wasnt. He was killed in easily one of, if not, the most gruesome ways imaginable.

Btw - Work on your English skills, I had to read your post three times before I could make out anything. :(

To what was quoted: Man! The obvious can't get past you. Religion exists everybody! I know you all know that but I have to remind you. Yes you are right death, believe and you will see lots of lies and false evidence. I'm guessing you belive in ghosts, I dunno why its just my friend talks bullshit like that i.e "To a believe no proof is necessary, to a non-believer no proof is possible".

When we knowledge, we will know its there, so far you haven't shown us any so forgive me if i don't take you're word for it :p
