Kill that Zerg was always a favorite game of mine. It made for a nice game-show map. Too bad nobody plays it anymore...
I dunno if anyone would remember this or not, but a while ago (probably more than a year) there was a Braveheart map that was pretty fun. One Force would create units and set them up around a castle they had to defend, and the other Force would create units to storm the castle, there was a 10 minute no-rush timer thing, and it was a really fun map.
All the defense games, and the protect games are all fun, but they get real old real fast cause its next to impossible to win unless you have a full house, or its rigged, which is really hard to do and if you do get a full house good luck getting one with 8 6 people with good internet conections.
I definately agree that V-tec is an excellent game, one of my favorites. But it's not a very fun game... I mean, it is, but usually once you start winning you dont stop winning, and whether you're on the killing end or the dying end, it gets kinda boring.
Evolves games and other bunker wars will always be around, and that's ok for the strictly bunker wars games (like, zone control, mcdonalds madness...pretty much all the madness games) but a lot of the evolves games they're putting out now are horribly designed. I mean, I was playin an evolves-style game the other day and it was set up to evolve every 200 kills; it was me, a partner and 2 other players on 2 other teams. We were all pretty much even with the kills and we all pretty much upgraded at the same time. It went: my partner-wraiths(ok, thats cool), other player-mutas(tidbit unfair cause of the splash damage, but not bad), other other player-scouts(not bad), me...vultures(!?!?!?!?!?!??!!!) Now, how any vulture would stand up against an army of mutas and scouts, I will leave to your imagination, but I can tell you it wasn't pretty... Another thing, at one point, I was getting lurkers, which in a game like that are totally useless for assult, and somebody else was getting DTs, which would have been ok except for the fact that each player was only equipped with one observer each...
Another one I played (sorry to drone on about it like this) i started out with broodlings(which is ok) but some idiot that made the game didnt take off their energy, so after a little while, they just died anyway... Seriously, some people should not be alowed to even touch a Starcraft Map Editor.
By the way, Evolves is another one of those delightfully annoying maps where whoever starts winning keeps winning, and thats that...
Has anbody here played any of the Dragonball Z RPG games? Now there you have a so-far-as-I-can-tell useless game... Whenever I played it was always just a bunch of people (the players) standing in one place and killing hundreds and hundreds of buildings that keep respawning in supposed "training areas" and then after that they would just...uh...well, I never made it to "after that" I always got bored after the first half-hour or so and quit...
And another thing, what ever happened to people slapping "Gold" or "Madness" (or both for that matter) at the end of the map name just to make it sound like something new and exciting..? I always thought that was kinda funny.
Has anyone seen any of the "pleasure kerrigan" or "kerrigan has sex with duke" maps? I wouldnt call them legendary or classic, but they definately are funny... and the picture of Kerrigan drawn out in pylons on on the"pleasure kerrigan" map is surprisingly well-drawn...
