Because everything isn't as clear until you actually get involved in the situation.

^ no, its because donny just want to make sure that the people who get the prize are deserving even tho they had the most post counts. yeh, he could be hesitating a bit but not to the extent that he will not actually give the prize ofcourse. and thats why i think it take some time to get your prize. took 4-5 days before i got mine, i was very excited about it and spamming messages to donny so maybe dony was thinking would i really give this unknown guy the money, delaying the delivery in the process.lol

First of all, its pretty obvious that someone outside of Vancouver, Canada will most likely win the contest.

Second, Donny was probably willing to ship them, but he didn't really think about it or see what it will end up doing until he actually got down to it and saw the numbers. So instead, he just decides to ship money to Jenny which isn't really a smart idea considering Currency Exchange needs to take place, and there is a chance the money will be lost.

The painting example was the same scenario told in a different way, for people who didn't get it. A person could say: Oh this will take 2 hours to finish it. But when he actually starts painting and realizes that problems start occuring - he realizes it will take like more than 2 hours to finish it.

what i dont get is if a sponser gives you xxx of money then you advertise a contest with great prizes then when someone wins you dont wanna send the prizes off because of shipment?

Thats the part that is getting everyone riled up Cheeze. If he had the "honour", he would see this contest to the end - and send the people what they needed as they needed it.

But shipping and handling fees of like 100$ CDN tells me something is wrong. He is probably using a stupid express delivery when the person can easily wait 4-6 weeks at a lesser charge.

However, he probably didn't know about the costs until after the contest was over. He should have dove some research into the problem beforehand. Like called the couriers or something.

If you want to have some sort of understanding of the situation before you actually dive down to it, sometimes it is wise to research things beforehand. It may cut down on unnecessary problems.
