I think that music is becomeing increasingly repetetive. The more time that passes, the more analogy I see between every song playing and person walking by it. Lately, all there are are prickling electronic beats of *poon-chees*poonchees*poonchees* *biau! biau! biau!*
Bands that try to revive punk: I respect you, but it just isn't the same.
Gothic music: Don't call yourself gothic if you are gothic, just 'be'. Gothic music can come in many shapes and sizes.
Pop: DIE!
Rap: I wish rap lovers would respect other music, and a lot of them don't but most of the just pucker up like rotten prunes when you tell them that it sounds like a couple of guys talking while someone plays the turntables.
No one is trying to bust out anything new, anymore, it makes me sick. The only reason they do it now, is to become famous, meet chicks/guys, and/or get rich.
Now, let's take Slipknot... they have really good songs (Eyeless, Purity, (sic)) but no one knows them. Most of them have heard all of the IOWA album, and then "Wait and Bleed" which is pretty annoying, except for the intro. Then there's "Left Behind" and they're latest video, "Duality". I almost hung myself for a moment. They sounded like a pathetic attempt to sound like Metallica. What I hate the most about it is that everyone says "Yeah, I like Slipknot... 'specially that one song... 'Duality'...yeah..."
---RRRGH! Anywho. What can I do? It's not even a new song. Hmph.
Classical music... there's the Morin Khuur, a string instrument from Mongolia... the saz, from Turkey...the sitar, from India... I like 'typical' classical music too, but not as much.
The Deftones. Those buggers...
They never were a fixed genre. But then again, like Slipknot, make all of their worst songs into videos. The songs don't suck, it's just like, it doesn't feel like anything, you know? Well... except "Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away)" and "Digital Bath" and "My Own Summer (SHOVE IT!)"...But no one knows them and those are VIDEOS.
Nirvana. They were ok, I like them. ("I'm a negative creep and aaah!... Jawny's little girl ain't a girl no more!") ("I think I'm dumb... think I'm just happy... maybe just happy")
Korn. They're good music is dead. I used to like 'em. But their messages have lost meaning.
Godsmack. They are good, but they need to release another album!
Rage Against the Machine. They separated, but RATM is still good. ("This is fo' da people of the SUN!")
------I'm sure I've left out a bunch of them, but really, I'm worried that good music is dying...
