If they want more money they should sell their CDs at a lower price... and what % does the group get from that price anyway? The companies take it all... so it's better to download their music, see it's good, then go to their concert, than buying the CDs... just my 2 cents lol

Considering the fact that the RIAA goes to P2P companies and pays them for lists of statistics and such that tells them what's popular and what's not. I would say downloading music is good.

It's wrong because, uhh, it's illegal.
Get some ****ing brains, you idiots. If you can't afford the music you're not supposed to listen to it, it's pretty ****ing simple. It's nothing than theft so stop trying to make yourself look overly smart when you're not and BONUS stop trying to justify it because you can't.

What the hell are yout alking about ? Nobody never justified anything, and you know why ? Because nobody can succesfully prove WHY it is illegal in the first place, so there's just no need for justification.

"Duh... its illegal because... duh... its illegal." You see Korritke, this is not an argument.

Ok, I'll give you this : in théorie, it is illegal and wrong, because stealing is stealing, but in practice, nobody cares and I've yet to hear from anybody who says that the illegal sharing of music directly hurt him. Unless you metion those money-whore artist who made a lot of money from their music but complain that they could have done even more. They're just greedy.

and as for the RiAA, as I explaioned above, they're not needed anymore. They used to be the medium betwen the artist and the population, making music reachable for us in the form of costly CD, but with the Internet, they're just not needed anymore.

Why would you need proof? It's too goddamn obvious unless of course you lack a LOT of common sense (which you seem to) or are just a complete moron over all borders.

Common sense does not commande me to pay a 20 $ CD when I whant only 2 or 3 tune out of 15 on it.

Way things work in our economie is, the customer whants, the customer gets. The artist can't afford to give me my music without a godamn expensive, compleltly usleess CD, WHILE making money at the same time ? Well then, he better find a real job.

Only because you can't afford a car, doesn't mean you can go and steal it from a car shop. Only because you can't afford food or water doesn't mean you're supposed to steal it from other peoples houses. You could grab it out of trashcans at the very most but you can't do that with music.

But problem is, free music is not to be found in the trash can, its just a few clic away. People have found a way to get music without buying a costly Cd. They've become obsolet. Therefore, you shouldn't ask the People to keep buying Cd, but insteed, its up to the industry to adapte to this new trend, or die trying. The music industry is like a coal merchand who, in the nuclear age, struggle to force the people to buy their whaistful, unefficiant energy while there is a better alternative right next door.

In my opinion, what I whant is to pay for the music, but not for whoever makes a Cd out of it, since its not necessary anymore. There should be websites (there already are some) where you could download music for a certain price, while the free download of music has become completly illegal. But the problem with that is that nobody, so far, has been able to enforce a law making the sharing of music illegale. And as long as such a law can't be enforced, nobody should be aksed to pay for music.

Well, in Germany it is illegal and the biggest internet provider offers a service where you can download single tracks as high-quality MP3's on full speed.

As long as it is trully illegal, and that the tracks are at a resonable price (where the money goes to the artist and website), I'm all for it.

But as long as softwar like Kazaa, Emule, and DC++ exist and nobody can make them truly illegal, its kind of pointless, IMO.

Downloading music isn't illegal, uploading and sharing music is, wasn't that how it was?

Either way, i don't download enough music to cause bankrupt to any artists.

I follow what the artist says...and since i really love The Offspring, I follow their beliefs: "Downloading music is just fine. Only if later you buy the cd. Programs like kazaa are good for our industry, they show what songs people really like." I agree with that, dling CAN be good for their buisness... and F*CK THE RIAA!!! THE RIAA IS A BUNCH OF GREEDY BASTARDS!

Pretty much the only people against downloading music are the ones making money off of CDs. It's not about making music that has meaning or that people will enjoy, it's about profits.

Here is a scenario to illustrate my opinion. Imagine you like two songs by a particular group. You're not going to buy a CD just for two songs because it's not worth $20. You aren't going to buy the CD regardless of whether or not you download the two songs. Either way, the industry is not making any money off of you. Korritke, you said you wouldn't steal a car just because you couldn't afford one....So why would I buy a car if all I needed was a tire?

But if you like every song on a CD, don't be cheap, just go out and buy it. Downloading music off the internet is just a privilage that shouldn't be abused.
