This is not a suggestion box thus it is not in the forum suggestion forum, tell us what you think of the current condition of Battleforums.

All comments should be made with the knowledge that this IS a transitional period in BF.

Ok, I have no problem with this thread as long as the Forum Guidelines are strictly followed. I don't want to have to close this thread.

Personally, I'm not exactly content with the current condition of BF, but like you said, it's a transitional period. There's always going to be some friction.

In my opinion, if we look at it from a long-term perspective, things are gradually getting better.

I don't like being pessimistic (believe me, I'm usually an optimistic person, or if needed, realistic), but I think we're gradually getting worse.

This because despite all, there's too much control on what should be more free, because it is a gaming forum for kids. You know we have to be tolerant with kids.

But, despite all, the admin team is not that Nazi as you all picture it. Which is why I picked the gradually option: there's always the chance something comes up that will make it go better.

In any case, one thing that I really feel urgent, and I have no desire to break the rules here, is that the fight between the members and the admin team avatar, namely Lizardbreath, ends. The constant arguing is not going to help anyone.

Cheers, Tronga. Glad to have you back onboard.

I agree, we have to be tolerant, but there are certain things I'm just not flexible about. Call me an idealist, but I'm fairly sure we can follow the Forum Guidelines and still have a good time.

Hopefully the end is near for the constant arguing.

On thing I have to mention, though: Please do not bring up certain members. That's bound to start a fight.

I know, that's why I added all the 'I hope I don't break any rule' part. I wouldn't be naming anyone, if it wasn't true. But yes, it's far from my intentions to start an argument.

Cheers, Tronga. Glad to have you back onboard.

Things will get better. Max is about 29728972 times better than Eric.
I appreciate it, but again, please don't take a stab at any other member. This thread will quickly go down the drain if members continue to do so.

Eric is a good guy. I can see why a few of you think otherwise, but in reality, he has good intentions and I'm glad he's sticking around as an administrator.

Here's how I feel about the current situation on Bf.

As much as banning people can be polarizing to a forum, a majority of the people who got banned deserved it. They just couldn't manage to follow a few simple rules max added and acted childish.

Now that being said I have noticed that even though some feel that we have lost our memberbase, over the past few weeks every time I have signed on I have seen a new member registered. Even if he is/isn't looking for hacks at least that seems to me like the forum is heading in a somewhat positive direction.

As for content I have to give ourselves a 0/10 currently. Although the content forum is a step in the right direction, I feel we need more then just a focus on SC:2. Or if we are going to be primarily basing our inflow of members of SC:2 then we better actively update our site when SC;2 is released. By this I mean we need to have sections like Replays with features like coverage/commentary of the higher ranking SC:2 players, a screenshot section, a general strategy section, and a write-up section on basic strats/build orders. We need to go balls out.

As for the rest of this site, I feel that we are still missing out on alot of possible hits because we really haven't updated most of the other sections. If we were to have members actively post information and maybe have the mods/regular members of that section update it with current patch info/ several well known strats & write ups then we could capitalize on the hits that other sites are getting.

In terms of Advertising, I think this can be done on many levels. B.net bots/User recommendations/Affiliates are all way that we can get our name out there again.

It's all up to what the users want out of BF. We now have a guy who is willing to actively change it to a great forum once again so long as we can make a couple adjustments ourselves.

Yea, it's because there's been so many bannings, etc, I vote things are QUICKLY becoming worse.

But who knows? Max seems like the guy that may bring BF back to life.

He can keep order absolutely. But that's if we had people to keep in line. We have now what? 10 active users?!

I think in the long run some of these users will come back, it's inevitable....BF, even in some of it's darkest hours have had users come and go....but they almost ALWAYS come back.

They always come back. But it takes time, but what is most disturbing is that we SC2 to be all excited about and look at that section. Its most dead. I thought I did a decent job when running the Ghost section with content. But the people just weren't there and as excited. It all depends on its members, and right now its just not there.
Maybe when its released we can offer strats and all kinds of goodies.
