minnesota, im not sure where you get your info, but last year cal was 5th or 6th in world economy and i know for sure it just surpassed france or some other country, so it is at least 5th world.

and what makes you think arnold will screw things up? because hes austrian and an actor? because he has money? because people like him? the only reason davis got re-elected this term was because the republican candidate was an even bigger screw-up than he was. arnold will do fine man, give him a chance. look at reagan, he started out as gov of cal(after being an actor) and then made it all the way to pres and did a fine job.

and kami, we find past things out from historical texts, cause im pretty sure my history teacher wasnt around in 1770, and he sure knows a lot about a lot of people back then... :p

btw U.S. Constitution

Article II

Section 1. The executive power shall be vested in a President of the United States of America. He shall hold his office during the term of four years, and, together with the Vice President, chosen for the same term, be elected, as follows:

Each state shall appoint, in such manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, a number of electors, equal to the whole number of Senators and Representatives to which the State may be entitled in the Congress: but no Senator or Representative, or person holding an office of trust or profit under the United States, shall be appointed an elector.

The electors shall meet in their respective states, and vote by ballot for two persons, of whom one at least shall not be an inhabitant of the same state with themselves. And they shall make a list of all the persons voted for, and of the number of votes for each; which list they shall sign and certify, and transmit sealed to the seat of the government of the United States, directed to the President of the Senate. The President of the Senate shall, in the presence of the Senate and House of Representatives, open all the certificates, and the votes shall then be counted. The person having the greatest number of votes shall be the President, if such number be a majority of the whole number of electors appointed; and if there be more than one who have such majority, and have an equal number of votes, then the House of Representatives shall immediately choose by ballot one of them for President; and if no person have a majority, then from the five highest on the list the said House shall in like manner choose the President. But in choosing the President, the votes shall be taken by States, the representation from each state having one vote; A quorum for this purpose shall consist of a member or members from two thirds of the states, and a majority of all the states shall be necessary to a choice. In every case, after the choice of the President, the person having the greatest number of votes of the electors shall be the Vice President. But if there should remain two or more who have equal votes, the Senate shall choose from them by ballot the Vice President.

The Congress may determine the time of choosing the electors, and the day on which they shall give their votes; which day shall be the same throughout the United States.

No person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States, at the time of the adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that office who shall not have attained to the age of thirty five years, and been fourteen Years a resident within the United States.

A note to everyone who has posted in this..

California HAS the 6th largest economy
:D

But also with Ronald Reagen.. he was from the US... I guess if Arnold knows a lot about politics then.. but I dont think anyone in california even cares about what he doesnt or does know.. its more about his fame... which is kinda lame

It doesn't "obviously" show it. It's shows that he won. Honestly, you don't know why EVERYONE voted for him, so don't act like it. Of course his acting career was a helping factor, but who's to say he WON'T be a good governor? Do you even know the people he was up against, minnesota? Can you say they would do better? I'm guessing you have no clue.

SO SHADDAP@! *shakes fist*

One of my favorite quotes of all time belong to Arnold Schwarzinegger. And it expresses what I feel a lot :D Well, I'd say it differently, but :p Meh

Who wants to talk about the Democrats? They all a bunch of girlie men!
Not sig worthy, but, none-the-less it's good ;) :)

well, if you look at it, the rest of the people running were friggen retards and his only "real" competitor lost by more votes than he had.. Besides, I dont wanna hear anyone complain, why? Arnold has accomplished more than everyone posting in this thread combined. I mean come on, he was the worlds strongest man at one point, an actor, and now a governor. Please, do your civil duty to your country and blow a goat. P.S. democrats suck

the cival thing to do would have been voting for someone worthy of the position, and not making the vote a complete popularity test

What's odd about those "sexual harrassment" things is that I haven't heard a peep outside something like "The Daily Inquisitor". And you'd think the papers and media would jump at it, eh?

If you want me to name governors elected who could barely speak English, I could probably get a list of 1-5 names. I could also probably find you a list of 15-20 names of mayors, if you want :p, though it would take a while considering how horrid my search skills seem to have gotten. (which I don't understand) As for "lately" though... Uh? I doubt it.

He wasn't the richest candidate, if I recall. Then again, I'm not actually in California *looks at "Location" under avatar*. Nope, definetly not in California.

If I were in CA, I likely would have voted for the best person on the ballot. I don't know all the names, but {insert democrat here} v. Arnold, give me Arnold any day.
