Well, "An Evil Force" is something quite often seen by noob modders. It means that an item/skill/monster or what have you was not given a proper name to replace the object default.

It means it's an early torch that Blizzard messed up on.

Ie you probably used a mod to remove light radius/rain or color runes/objects etc and didnt extract the patch data or otherwise screwed something up. If you do a mod and forget a file it will cause this, "an evil force" seems to be like bfh said, a default for an object that isn't named. You could probably fix this by finding an mpq extractor and extracting the data from the mpq to diablo II/data/

P.S. probably ANY torch this char picks up will look exactly like this.

Look at the godly charm uber baal dropped, i killed him with a inventory full of SoH's and look what he dropped! OMG

The modder in the screenshot above (not mine look higher up) didnt extract the patch data from the mpq, thus why it has no name, only large charm. (note Hellfire Torch is missing) and the firestorm is "evil force" again because the data wasn't properly extracted from the mpq when the mod was done.


Anyways hope you can get uber baal to drop a charm as godly as mine!

i havent got a screenshot but when you vs meph, you might notice small blue-white things that pop outta the ground when you stand there, that is the evil force. it says when it kills you "Retard was slain by an evil force".

An evil force can be many different things in the game... not just a ghost in A3.

But yeah, Ive never seen anything like that torch.

What is with the Baal's Hotdog thing?

An evil force is usually the little scimitars that attack you in act 3, I beleive it could also be baal attacking you with casted things when you are doing a run.
