I got into kind of a heated debate with a friend (female and is all about the marine corp) about whether or not women should be allowed in battle. well...my views are that they should be allowed to be in the military...but not in battle. Sorry, but I don't like to see womens names on those big list of the dead, MIA, or pOW's. kinda makes me sad. what do you guys think?

all logical arguments are against you..... but i agree with you. i dont know why, i just dont want to see a woman running around with a m16 gettin shot up... i have no problem with women as fighter pilots however. generally my arguments arainst women fighting are weak...but i still cant drop that opinion.

thats pretty much my opinion. im not sexist, i dont think that women are any less capable then men...but it is hard to think about our mothers, wives, sisters, or daughters getting killed in action.

Every one is going to die. Might as well let them choose how their gonna go out. Fighting or Serving out of Danger, in the end they are gonna bite the big one sooner or later. Let them have their fun and games i say.

Perhaps, but your arguements are, both of yours are. You're thinking that women are weaker than men, and are incapable of performing the same tasks men can, even though they are both trained just as hard.

Like Armtin said, logic is against you.

You don't have the option I want up there!

Yes. But they must go through the same training as men.

At this moment, the Marines, Rangers, Delta Force, and Seals (I believe) are the only forces that have men and women in coed camps (less divided than usual) and same exact requirements. Requirements for women in the Army, Air Force, and Navy are still lax and "favor" the idea that "women are weaker."

I say this: "If they can hack it, they can stay. If they can't, they should get out." I apply this to everyone, however. The primary reason women aren't permitted into "fighter roles" is because no one can handle the psycological trama they would be forced through if made into POW. Women are likely to get raped as torture. Men, oddly, are more able to take the psycological trama they are forced through if made into POW. Men tend to recieve physical torture and, very seldomely, some form of soddomy.

Using the only POW known in recent history to be a woman, Jessica Lynch was very lucky to not be raped, tortured, killed, and desecrated after death. Although, we probably got to her fast enough to prevent such actions.

I don't think it's really sexist. In high school gym class it always bugged me that the standards for females' fitness was set lower than males' yet females still complained about how they weren't treated as equal. If women want to be treated as equal in all situations they can't suddenly retract their equality when they realize it's bad for them in certain instances.

I know what you mean!, If my sister has to do something she says let me do it because Im a male so naturally im bigger than her so I can lift things with less strain, but when we have to do something else the whole story changes...

i think that if your eligible for the military you should be eligible for the draft...... im against drafting women, but why should they give us arguments "were equal to you and we acn do the same things." ok, if your so equal you should be able to be drafted.

Neither do many of the 'special' careers (i.e. special forces) of the Army.

To me, well, this is tough. It is proven most women are not as physically tough as men, they are weaker physically*. For this reason, they are not allowed into the most rugged jobs of the Military, as it should be.

I have nothing against women in the Military, but I do fell that they should have jobs located away from the front lines. Women should do the 'office' aspects of what is needed in the war.

*This is in no way sexist, for it is proven. Who is the strongest person in the world? Who is the fastest? Who can jump the highest? Etc, etc.

logically yes, politically no.....

we need any fighting force in the army and they DID volunteer.
politically no or else they would make a HUGE issue if one woman dies in a war or like that lindsay flinch..... she just lost her legs but is now considered a hero?

lmao right wtf is the problem about sexism WOMEN AND MEN ARE NOT THE SAME so why should they be treated the same? simply because women think the grass is greener on the other side guess wot its NOT. look the reason woman are excluded/separated from such things like football/rugby is because when they start getting bigger its a risk to the woman's safty because they are naturaly smaller so some massive man jumping on some smaller female.... btw i dont get stuff like diamond insurance because they think that woman are better drivers.. the first woman f1 driver which would be one of the best woman driver ran over the pit crew...

I have nothing against that, during WW2 in Russia women sniper batalions killed thousands of German troops. They can hold the gun and pull the triger, what else you want?

The only logical argument against having women in the military that has not been presented is the following. If both parents of a child went into combat this would be a problem. Especially if both were in combat roles. Someone, male or female, has to care for the children after and during a couples tour of duty.

the argument is that women are not as physically capable as men.iknow this is true for the majority but not neccissarily all women.
take a look at athletics, women compete in different events because they dont stand a chance against men.please dont flame me for saying this remember im saying that generally women are born with less potential for fitness than men

also for women to serve on the front line, it would require a cmplete overhaul of military equipment.the ,medics would have to be trained to deal with different sorts of problems and be equiped for them.Accomadation, when on training in the desert do you think its going to be very convienient to rig up extra tents in a different location just to accomadate them seperately
and finally what women would want to be in the jungle with 10 other horny blokes who havnt seen a women for months all carrying all manner of diseases and covered in sweat?asking for trouble?
