Faerie just needs to stop spamming all together. Sheesh, and whining here won't bring him back. You gotta wait a week or like five days now. :)

The major point that everyone misses in forums, is when it comes to moderators. If a person, who everyone likes breaks the rules...he gets away with it. But if someone who no one knows or doesn't like does something to break the rules....it's goodbye. Moderators can do whatever they want whenever they want and dont have to answer to anyone....This thread should be locked.
Mods are no longer able to ban. Only Senior Mods and up.

I'd go into how Senior Mods are selected, but it'd probably take me a day at the rate I'm typing tonight.

Someone else wanna fill everyone in? :(

Faerie's been around for awhile. We knew it would cause problems banning him, however favoritism is a dirty business I avoid as much as possible.

Yes special exceptions are made to older members on the forums (not more favorite or less), however if a member has been here for say a year or more, and has contributed a lot to the forums, wouldn't you think they deserve a second or third chance to clean up?

Umm.. every month the moderators (not staff members, the current senior mod, or admins) vote for the senior mod. The mods can only vote for people in their section(wc, sc, d2, gen), and if they mod more than one section, they can vote for one person in any of those sections. Lets sey you mod War3 gen and SC gen, you can vote for anyone in WC or SC forums.

Is that what you meant? :(

To many people have been given more than 3 chances and yet they still reside here.

I'm leaning towards something along the lines of...it depends on the severity of actions. For Example, TheSummit. By now, you know what he did. Take COTA-GoD, going on a ban spree because I pointed out a horrible decision made by him. Even though they've been here a long time, I think it depends on how bad their action. Sounds a little awkward (not all there), but meh, you get the point.

It shouldn't matter how long there here. A 1 poster could post porn somewhere but yet could've had the potential to be someone like an admin. Whether it be Faerie, COTA, GAHEADGA or Tweak who is banned all punishments should be the same, even if coming back means just creating another account, so be it.

Don't answer out of intimidation. Use complete honesty in your reply to this hypothetical situation.

If I posted porn, do you think I should be allowed to come back sooner than the designated default time of one year?

Please post an explanation with your answer.

If you need further elaboration, I post g0atse in Chit-Chat with a thread title of "Important Forum Information".

I ask only because I want to understand better from your point of view IDefy.

No you broke the rules just as anyone else could have. One chance is enough IMO. Posting porn is not a mistake, you cannot accidently post it or accidently break the rules therefore a second chance should not be given. A line has to be drawn, a boundary line set. Just because someone has a position of power doesn't mean they should get off easy. World leaders, politicians, celebrities, authority figures etc. have all taken advantage because of there status. What makes this different? NOTHING.

Yeah I see what you mean Idefy but would by banning cort make the forums a better place? Nope.

You ban people to make the forums better. Plain and simple.

I don't think we should ban coRt. He's done more help then harm as far as I can tell, and it wouldn't be the same without him I think. We need him to stop the stuff in The Asylum (like he has been doing, those little spammers a dy or so ago) and other stuff. Seeing as AxL is doing his life elsewhere, coRt has been chipping in. And I love him for that. Go coRt.

I think cort is more sensible then AxL almost like he takes more time to think what the passible outcomes could be.

I'm not trying to make this into a discussion about what I've done and haven't, but I just don't like the authoritarian position of abosolute "Yes"s and "No"s.

With every society, there is chaos (law/rule breaking), and order. Too much of one or the other can result in complete suppression of the individual, and free spirit. I try to believe in balances of all things, and compromise. Some situations warrent an absolute 'yes' or 'no' to a situation, but I feel that someone that refuses to change their mind on a subject, could easily be regarded as stubborn, or ignorant.

This was not directed at anyone, just a personal statement/belief.

Yes, but sometimes people do things they dont mean, and are affected by an outside cause (stress, mental problems, drugs).

I think that Older members should be allowed back if they have contributed alot to the forums.

Remember Idefy this is a game forum nt real life.

Ex. If a nub comes in and posts porn in his secound post then ban him for good.

If Cort donates his time and money for years and suddenly get angry and breaks a Rule. No ban should be given if he is serious about being sorry.

Abusing powers? Just because COTA banned a lot of people you say all the other mods are abusing to? Think not. We warn to people who deserve it.

Also, incase you haven't heard, moderators cannot ban anymore. Only Senior Moderators and above can. So most of the bannings this week besides COTA were by Admins who felt it was needed.

If you're not going to read threads before yours, please don't post in those threads. It brings it offtopic.

Actually, with the number of times Faerie spammed that week, if Forged had just given him the default 4 points per spam post, it would've added up to about 28 right there alone.

Forged was actually being generous...
