I can understand your clothes being dirty as the result of you wearing them a lot. Hell, I'm still wearing clothes that I bought over seven years ago. No point in wasting money just because clothes aren't perfectly new. But doesn't it sort of cheapen the message of punk to wear clothes that you've dirtied on purpose? What's the point behind it?

I go to the sales rack at ross pick up some jeans and any shirts/jackets i like and am on my way. I save money and apparently it looks like all the 'hip new' whatnot. a sweatshirt, there was a hole in it that pissed my mom off so i put a safety pin in it to "fix" it just to piss her off more. everyone thinks i bought it from hot topic but i bought it from macys for the love of god...

dilapidated shoes that i fixed with duct tape to once again vex my mother about it, i did not put on the duct tape for any other reason.

I totally agree. I guess you could call me a punk because i listen to punk music, but its stupid to put people into groups, we are all humans. Its stupid to go buy a spiked belt and say im punk when your listening to Yellow card. I dont care what i wear. Sometimes ill order a band shirt of two but i havnt in awhile. Just because it has a name on it, doesnt mean you should blow 40 dollars on it when you could have just gotten cheaper with no name on it, so i go for cheap things, but still try to be different from everyone else.

I act however I want to act. I try to have my own originality even though it never really works and I usually take personality traits from here or there. The way I dress has to do with the music I like, mostly band t-shirts and jeans.

I don't like conformists at all, but when I say that, I'm conforming with all of the anti-conformists. So either way, no one is completely original and different. We all follow slight trends without realizing it, and chances are you weren't the first to wear this, and to talk like that. I despise people that hate trends almost as much as I do people that follow huge trends.

But regarding your questions: no to either. When I pick out what I'm going to wear that day, I open up my closet, look around grab something that I think looks fine, and is suitable for the weather, etc.
