Hi Alfred:
My name is David Humphrey, and I'm a professor at Seneca College, where
I teach open source and Mozilla development. We met at Whistler, where
I attended your D-Trace talk with Rob Sayre. I thought that this
sounded like great work for my students, since it was not going to block
any releases, was a repeatable set of skills once learned, would add
real value, etc.
I've got a student, Chris, who is trying to add probes to Mozilla as
discussed in your talk. However, we're getting no where trying to talk
to Mozilla about this. I'm hoping you can step in and help get Chris going.
So far he's got d-trace working in Mozilla, learned how to probe what is
already there, read some bugs, etc. He has 2 more deliverables due for
me, one in 2 weeks. Ideally we'd like to get him adding some new
probes, but clearly this requires someone to show him where to do it.
Are you able to help us?
Thanks,
Dave
