If u havent noticed, carrier AI makes 144 interceptors attack 1 scourge at the time. That means:

Loss of carriers: Maybe 8
Loss of scourges: 2 or 3

Do not forget how shitty Scourge AI is, 24 Scourge will go after 1 target and 5 will kill themselves and do no damage to anything, then you have stall time ( the time for the Scourge to realize they have other stuff to attack). I would probally lose 1 Carrier unless you did the smart thing and its called flank and decoy.
Also Carriers have 300 HP and 150 Sheilds so basically 450 HP with 4 Armor. Scourge do 106 with the armor factor. I would lose 4 Carriers if I didn't attack, But since I will, I would probally not lose any unless all Scourge attacked 1 Carrier ( Basic Prob Solving Math)

Scourges can be microed to attack ceperate targets (ever heard of cloning?) while carriers can not. Besides, i would of course get defilers with plague and swarm if u were making carriers.

Wow, I forgot about the all mighty micro yeah I sure did, Ill micro my Carriers to attack seperate Scourge and when the Dark Swarm came into play I would move my units outta your Swarmed units range..

And how the hell are u going to get 18 carriers in PvZ? They are too expensive, just face it! If u are making carriers in PvZ, only make 5 or 6 of them to harass expansions, have at least 3 expansions, and have zealots and templars in addition to the carriers.

Not micro Interceptors, micro Carriers. Im not a newb I know you can't control them. I could easily get 18 Carriers in PvZ, but I wouldn't and quit changing the situation. I mean if I had 18 Carriers I'm excluding the money and time factors....

Yes, IF u could get the money and time to make 18 carriers they could do a lot of damage to a zerg opponent, but the fact is, U WONT! Mass carriers are not cost and time effective in PvZ.

Carriers dont require a shitload of tech and I would have more than 1 StarGate, besides that I wouldn't mass Carriers, I don't know how this got so far, I was making the statement 18 Carriers would own Zerg not that I could get 18 Carriers in a PvZ game.
And anything can be cost and time effective against any race, details are what people undermind.
And lastly, I could get 18 Carriers against almost anyone, I would tech to them, then get other units like Goons, DT's, Archons's, ect.. depending on the enemies quanity of units and the type and when I have enough units to put up a fight I would start saving for Carriers.

18 carriers would cost 6300 minerals and 4500 gas, and they would take 10 minutes and 30 seconds to make out of 4 stargates. I dont think that is cost and time effective.

And anything can be cost and time effective against any race
100 vultures wouldn't do any damage to a zerg player who knew what he was doing. Everything is not effective vs all races.

Well. To get you two to stop arguing. Terran is the best race vsing Zerg, in my opinion. M&M owns all zerg units besides Lurkers and Lots of Guardians. Just give them tank support & SV.

I agree with Renzokuken anyway toss is only good vs terran if the players both knew what they were doing. I still reckon toss is good vs toss because most ppl dont do active scanning with observers and toss have dark templar. high templar can also easily (emphasis on easily) waste carriers with psi storm

Not really, if both players know what they are doing all the MUs are balanced. It all depends on the players skill lvl and the map.

lol, scourages ----> wasted, ill just find out if u have lots of scourages using my queens and send in hallucinated carriers to lure them to death, then send in my real carriers/scouts/arbiters/observers etc etc, and recall my goons/darktemplars. o yea, protoss's good against zerg when the pro player knows how to build dark templars fast and terran when you could mass marines/firebats/medics. In mid-game, i suppose the more technologically advanced units come into play, depending on how good the other zerg player is, you could use units such as science vessels to irradiate if u r terran, or nuke the damn pests. If u r pro though, the best thing is to use observers/scouts to kill the lurkers or whatever the enemy has hidden, then storm the zerg base with four to five arbiters, whatever made it through, recall ur army, and win the game :D bottom line, the races are pretty much evened out, and even if u know a tonne of strategies, and BEST THING to do is to KNOW what ur enemy's doing at the BEGINNING of da game. ill stop, my eyes hurt, post rest of my thoughts later, choa.

the bad thing about hallucinated carriers is that the damn intercepters arnt hallucinated though...
I reckon scouting could win you the game with the right counter units, but theres no point at the VERY start at the game cause all they'll have is a rax/hatch/pylon/gateway/sulpy. The good thing about terran scouting is that u can scout w/o units (Comsat :D)

I scout with the probe/SCV that made my first pylon/depot, or if im zerg ill socut with a drone if my overlord didn't find the enemy.

how do you get past a terran defense of bunkers/turrets/siegedtanks if u r zerg? overlord sight, hold their position, send in the guardians, destroy all turrets, then send in queens, broodling all the tanks if possible(to aid the guardians in destroying the tanks), then send in difiler, dark swarm the front region of the enemy line, send in hydras, destroy defense, send in everything else to destroy the base or take over the empty resource site. If enemy send in marines, or ground units, u already go lurkers/difilers, so not to worry. If they send in air units, u have scourages/overlords. If they use irradiate, simply send in the infested guardian to die, so their attention would be diverted for a few seconds. This stra. works only if u r really good at micromanagement and know the enemy's layout pretty well, don't want to screw up when trying to set up your traps, lol. Also need lots of units and really good defense at first, usually get a few canals at your other expansions, so if your plan backfires, and the enemy comes to your base and destroys you, at least you still have some chance of surviving. gtg for now, later.

Golls vs zerg isn't a good idea, i just get 10 science vessels to assist my M&M's and i irradiate all the guards.
