Sadly true, for his brillance, aoes and the ability to move around the map without tping. Plus can attack air without orbs and also without a low armor count (blood mage has 2 armor at level 1).

Still Antondias was never a l33t archmage.

Woot i got lothar as #1 result! i used to love this guy in Wc1 and 2. then i got

Those are all pretty good i think.

Lothar was best friend to Medivh and King Llane of Azeroth in their childhood days. During the time where Medivh suffered a coma due to the corruption of Sargeras' spirit, Lothar and King Llane kept giving him constant companionship. After the coma ended, they kept being best friends; however their relationship was somewhat not-so-close due to work and responsibilies (Medivh as a Guardian and Mage, Lothar was a Knight, King Llane had to rule his people).

During the First War in Warcraft I, Medivh fought hard and led his people to victory often. When Medivh became corrupted by Sargeras, Lothar together with a raiding party that included the archwizard Khadgar (then an Apprentice) decided to free Medivh's soul once and for all by killing him. (Medivh was later reincarnated as a storm crow.)

In recognition of his services to his people, Sir Lothar became the Regent Lord of Azeroth, and led the land and air forces of the Alliance to victory. He was also known as the Champion of King Llane. He fought against the Orcs in the Second War, but ultimately fled to Lordaeron with his countrymen in the great Exodus. Unfortunately, Lothar was killed by Orgrim Doomhammer during a battle in the Second War. It is suggested that he was ambushed while trying to achieve a truce with the Orcs. It is speculated that he was killed by Orgrim Doomhammer at Blackrock Spire (this fact is yet uncertain due to conflicting versions of the storyline). Lord Lothar's name lives on in the ten-year-old child-king of Stormwind, His Majesty Anduin I.
