Ninja, that's not the problem. Chances are, no one tried anything. It's very common for someone to obey a gunman...because...they have a gun. If someone (even more than one) tried though, I guarantee there would have been less deaths. I can't expect that much out of innocent, oblivious people though. It's not like they were expecting someone like that to drop by.

A skilled gunman could reload a gun pretty quickly. You have to keep in mind that when people are totally afraid it's hard for them to gain composer.

On a related note, I actually know someone that was near the shooting. Eerie.

i agree w/ the bumbrush. how many people did he line up? i mean after the first 2 ida been like "..." and honostly, id prefer to rush him, take the chance of being shot in the chest/stomach/leg/arm/head and living long enough to rip that gun from him than to be gaurenteed a shot in the head

I don't know how many people he lined up. Check out the video someone took of the shooting on CNN. It's very scary.

I think he'd at least know how to reload a gun before he did something like this. And saying how you would kick his ars instead of sitting still with a gun pointed at you, is utter bullshit. You don't know how you would react to a situation like that, unless you've actually been in one. Fear is not the only thing that would keep you from attacking him, you'd think of other peoples safety, too, probably?

When I saw this on the news yesterday, I got pissed. There's no excuse for doing something like that.

Slightly off topic, but my dad used to drive a Schwann's truck. Well one of the places he had to drive through was a bad neighborhood/city. He was unloading from his truck somewhere and two black guys came up to him, one with a gun pointed at him. My dad beat the shit outta both of them after knocking the gun away from the one guy. I only hope I'm able to do the same if I'm ever held at gunpoint.

A very sad event for the world.

Regarding defending yourself against a gun: In theory, all of you will have the willpower to try and attack the gunman if he is pointing the gun right at your face because there is almost certain death - I think I could have that willpower, but I doubt it is not in everyone.

That said, you cannot blame people for not attacking a gunman. Because, quite frankly, there is almost no common sense in doing so, unless he is close and not facing you.*

She did. I don't know what's so hot about a 50-year-old lady running towards someone though.

Hey dumasses.

Rushing the guy?

Sounds good, except everyone is scared, theres no time to organize it w/o the gunman hearing and shooting you.

Oh and how are you gonna get like 10 ppl to volunteer to rush him when everyones scared shitless and hoping if they stayed put under their desk they might live but think they wont stand a chance if they rush the gunman?

Sure everyone would fantasize their ninja moves and shit, but chances are the most you do is prollyl spit at them or throw one punch if you dont get shot, and show again.

I was joking about ninja moves, but once again, if they were forming a death line, and already shot two of them off, I would MOST DEFINITELY do something. I wouldn't just stand there and let him shoot me. Yeah, you might get shot while trying to kick his ass, but atleast you have a chance. The otherway you have no chance what-so-ever.
