Yes, please post anything about triggers in here.

One thing you must do when giving an answer, is you MUST quote the persons question. That way, once their post is deleted other people will know what you're talking about.

From this point on, all threads about Triggers will be closed, and given a re-direct link to here.

Also, being the nice mod that I am, I went through and replaced all links with the old thread to this thread. So all the ones closed and given links to the old Ultimate Trigger Thread, have been changed so they now bring you to this one.

I think here is where I shall ask.

How do I put for two players in a game I´m creating.

some one said player options, but I didn´t find any player options....

by the way, that link over there is not working.

how do I put a second player?

How do I put for two players in a game I´m creating.
goto "scenario" up the top of your screen and uder that should be a heading "Player Properties" click on it.

a window should open and there should be a collom called "controller" with a little drop box under it.

on the row labled "Player Two" changed it from "None" to either "Computer" (if u want the computer to controll that player) or "User" (if u r playing online or LAN with a friend)

found it! Just finished a map, but the computer is too dumb to cross the dungeon I made to cross... I skip the air units because they would cross the walls and stuff...

Now i am about to start a campaing in a place called underdark, but I am too noob. I got the whole story in head, but I wish I could know somethings about triggers...

for exemple, the hero cross a line of the game where some cameras start to rotate the scene while the hero and someone else is talking.

I would aprecciate if someone could help me

Dunno how to do these:

Make a group of units, put units in it, then order them to do different things depending one what 'region' they are in.

yea let me start by saying it great when your post disappers off the face of the planet :scary. i posted trigger question and now its not even on this thread and i check my thread where icedevil gave a link to post it al nothing is there so i am like wtf???? :confused:. my question is i played a map where u click on a unit and the unit becames yours there were no spell just click on the unit and tada the unit is yours. i would like to make this trigger can u please tell what events, condtions and actions i need please. And if its not to much trouble can someone tell why the my post and like 12 other ones might have disappered off this thread.

Event: Player - Player 1 (red) selects a unit
Conditions: Depends on the map
Actions: Unit - Change owner of unit to player 1 (red)

How do i make it so when a timer window runs out, it sends all units in a specific region, to a desired region? and also, how can i make it so when only 4 units enter a region they will be tranported to a different region? so when 1 unit enters it will not be transported but when 4 do the trigger will work and they will be transported??? Ty

When a timer runs out, use this trigger. You must first create a variable, a timer. For our example, we'll name it TimerOne

Events

Countdown Timer- Timer Expires- TimerOne expires.

Conditions

None

Actions

Countdown Timer-Timer Window- Destroy last created timer window.
Countdown Timer-Pause Timer- Pause TimerOne
Unit-Issue order to Units In Region- Issue order to all units in RegionOne to Move to RegionTwo

And for the 2nd one, where 4 units enter a region.

Events

Region-Unit Enters Region- A unit owned by Player 1(Red) enters RegionOne

Conditions

Not entirely sure on this, look for something in Units or maybe Regions. It should be something similar to '# of units in region is equal to __'

Actions

Unit-Move Units- Move all units in RegionOne to RegionTwo.

Sorry about that, I split the thread, and then, since it was causing problems (thanks to x42 for pointing this out to me), I moved the thread and created a new one. All links have been fixed that were given the old thread.

ok guys i need help with this:

in my map there is a dragon that appears every 15 minutes for 5 minutes and i want to make it that when u destroy the dragon it drops a mad ass item im working on.

the obvious thing to say would to just click on the monster and goto "drop item on death" but seems the monster isnt there when im making the map (doesnt appear until 15 minutes into the game so i cant do that) so is there a trigger that can make an item drop when the monster is destroyed?

hope u can understand ne of that.

Upgrades and triggers

Ok, how do i use a condition to find out upgrade type to an event A unit finishes an upgrade

OR

What event do i use for when someone upgrades from great hall to stronghold or whatever it is... i tried unit enteres region but then it activates when i 'start' the upgrade, i want trigger to activate when it finishes update, and how do i use a condition to find out like make sure it is great hall to stronghold and nothing else. please reply asap, ty

Im trying to figure out my dialog.
I have setup a dialog called Level Up and 3 dialog buttons 1)Agility 2)Strength 3)Intelligence.
Once my character levels up this dialog and buttons will pop up perfectly but how could I set this up for each player to have 15 points to spend, so everytime I clicked one of those buttons it would subtract 1 from the points, and how would I get the dialog to continue coming up until all points have been spent?

I'm going to try and answer all of these questions as well as possible... here goes:

Hmm... is this dragon a creep? If so: HAve him already be on the map (in a corner or osmething) then move him to the new region later into the game.

Ez, make an integer for each player . then remove 1 each time and as long as the integer is sitll there remake the dialog

EDIT: I was in a rush, heres a better description:

Make an integer for each player called "dialog1, 2, 3, etc" Now the first time you show the dialog, when they make a choice have it remove 1 from the integer. Then make a condition for the trigger that checks to see that the integer is greater than 0, once i htis 0 it stops remaking the dialog box.

Im sorry tassader, I sort of understand what you are saying, you mean use the if statement?

If player1 (integer)= < 0 show (dialog)
?

Please explain in more detail about this and about each player integer?

Hey i want to know if any people know how to do these two thing
1. if they is a way to make a chat command or playername = so like i am making a Hero arena map which pople helped me with but i want to make it if one of us is in the games it go hey look its blah blah blah the peron who made the map so please help me.
2. if their a way to change the player name in the game like lets say they pick the unit called thief but the user name is bob i want it so that everytime bob speak instead of it saying bob:say blah blah blah its says Thief: say the msg that bob typed in. please help any ideas would be great i and i would look forwords to them.

You could make a text thing that would say:

When p1 types - "-say ***" it would display for all other players *** says *** and depending on what their unit is it would display something different for the *** says

Note: i fixed the problem in my previous post

Organization Help

Ok, i need some organization help with my triggers on one of my mods, I need a more organized way, and help to, for the follwing:

Player builds 'Gold Scales' (structure)
Varible keep track of that, and assigns it to a varible
Player builds more
Varibles add each one, and assigns each one a different varible,
I want player to be allowed unlimited gold scales, so that when units right click on gold scales, their added to a unit group, and unit-hide action activates, and when i select gold-scales train a unit called Unload, it unloads all the units, whom entered that gold mine, and not ones from other gold mines.

I have way to do this but its unorganized, and has a bug if someone builds 2 'gold scales' next to eachother:

When you unload, it selects all units from unit group hidden owned my player owner of unit trained unit (unload) in a region of 500 by 500 from trained unit, then remove trained unit.

that works, but if there are units in a gold-scales next to the first, it will un-hide them also.

if you can, please help me.
