Nothing is going to happen to Hubble anytime soon. Right now their using it to examine Sedna... so... uh... what are you talking about?

Yes, since we have only learnt so little from Sedna, I want to know more of what it holds, and im sure many of us here wish to aswell. Hubble is not had enough time to acheive its potentiol, Sedna holds many ''secrets'' and Hubble can find them. I think we should protest, lets all go to florida!!

I'm sure they have a good reason for pulling it down and there are many more telescopes that can find the "secrets" of sedna. As mac man said thier probaly not going to take it down for while, maybe the discovery of sedna might delay it.

Don't get me wrong, I want the hubble to stay there but I don't really think we're seeing the whole picture. Sedna is supposed to be a planetoid or a plaent like body."Astronomers have discovered the most distant known object in our solar system. The U.S. space agency NASA is calling it a planet-like body, but the discoverers say it is not a planet." They also say pluto isn't really a planet either.

Yea, I've heard that they're planning on taking it down as well. Because it's outdated and, technogolically speaking, it's anceint. Been up there for well over 10 years. And I also heard, as Otto said, they're replacing it with Hubble 2. Personally, instead of destroying it, I think they should make it orbit the moon, or give it a high orbit, out of the way. If they can even do that...

And you also have to keep in mind, NASA doesn't exactly have a huge budget.

It might, they just not showing it. Or they actually might be showing it, you just never looked. Ofcourse they are gonna get all that money now, you americans want to go to Mars, and revisit the Moon, NASA is suddenly needed again, public will turn its attention to it. And everyone knows that governmental funding goes there public looks.

What would the point be? Why not just scrap it? Do you know how hard it would be.
I can tell these forums aren't moderated much...
Why wouldn't they be moderated? Because there is a topic that you're not interested in? Go back to blizzforums or stop whining.

Hmm, it will come from the people, even the people who don't give a shit. It's just a ploy to distract us from Bush's other idiocys.

A democrat had dreams of putting men on the moon....

It happened. America took the lead of space exploration and has never looked back, not to mention the incredible accomplishment, for mankind, just by doing so. It would be a wonderful thing to put men on Mars, hopefully it will happen.

Wow, will you get over this Russian/American debate? Why must everything you post turn into it?!

I could care less if it's America, Russia, or even China who puts the first man on Mars. We are all still part of the same mankind. We still accomplish it together. Get over yourself.
