Actually what a really hard map to make would be is some type of board game like say monopoly... or even a soccer map

Chill FNH.. No need to get all mad at Pink Peon. So, shut up about him, he did nothing wrong, your the one trying to flame him for no reason. Just keep your feelings to yourself, theyll come right back at ya.


Back on topic: I think that Tony Hawk would be awesome, but practically impossible..

I like to think of myself as an original map maker. Some of the things I've made:

Baseball
This was definitely original, a lot of people were impressed by the hitting system, which was really accurate for SC (used burrowed units and locations to lower the area of "good" hits

Splash Defense
Basicly you built units that would shoot at you (firebats, tanks) and kill enemies only through the splash (caused by them shooting at you). You had to aim the fire, it was a defense map that required skill... too bad it leaked before it was done.

Grapple Defense
Ok So I liked making defenses. This one exploited the bug that leaves units isnide bunks at the original location when bunks are moved. You would move bunks so you could stack men, sorta neat.

Truer Diablo 2 Rpg
I always though the "true" rpg wasn't good enough, so I made one with a weapon/armor system, among other things. A very original RPG... a lot of things most people can't do. I actually met the author of true d2 and he liked my map, even suggested a few good ideas.

Harvest Moon
Based on the nintendo 64 game, this was an awsome emulation of the real game.

Desert Castles
I took cold castles and improved it (had author's permission). Added gates, potion mixing, and what-not.

Just as a warning, the map isn't actually done, I stopped when game-lag started to be a problem on my 56k. So the game only goes as far as black marsh/tristram (with Andariel being in tristram, and being friggin hard, she has best armor best weapon, casts paralyse...)

Some characters don't have 4 spells, the druid.. don't pick him. Ever. All characters have at least 3 spells, at least one of their spells is "modern" (displays info when you get it, levels up a bit).

hmm what else... oh basic navigation:

Charsi repairs armor (if your armor dies but you don't die you can buy it back for 1/10 the price) and sells upgrades. Gheed sells weapons and lets you sell your items. Akara sells potions and TPs. Places only respawn when everyone leaves them for about 10 seconds (they respawn slowly, from left to right). Yellow shrines (Player 8) are charged, brown (P6) are depleted. Hero enemies (the hyra (spike fiend) in blood moor) are heroes, they drop items at random. Sometimes I reuse a hero as a unit in a later area.
