Torque shook his head. "I will not harm you Asakai, I cannot but I won't go easy either." He said and then he ducked her staff strike and brought up Deathscream, indending to slice just the front fabric of her tunic. He had no intention of harming her, but at least giving a small cut. He knew how to control his actions in such a way that he could predict how hard to hit someone.

 

[Asakai-miko-Midoriko]

He managed to cut into her tunic causing it to hang awkwardly revealing her left shoulder. She merely ripped the dress off leaving her chest covered in the wrapping bandages she often wore for training. She cracked a small smile at his words."Apparently this is going no where....perhaps we should play a game to better test your stamina." She took a small pouch from the wall which was a water pouch."I'm going to take off with this pouch your objective is to retrieve it from me if you can." She then took off down the hallway in what seeme dlike seconds.

Torque sighed as Asakai sped off. "Hardly fair, I'm a human." He said and then rushed off after her. She was fast and it was frustrating him. He was only human and the fastest he could be was... then the idea struck him and he headed towards the candles, swinging Deathscream fast enough that they were extinguished, plunging the room into near-darkness. He then melded with the shadows and became one with the wind. He rushed towards Asakai, now matching her speed.

 

[Asakai-miko-Midoriko]

She smiled inwardly.'At least he's learning.' She slid down the corridor to the chambers hallway. All the doors were closed so she ducked into the nearest room possible which happend to be Reise's room. She ducked under the bed where Reise was currently sleeping on top of.

Thaltos sighed. "I guess Torque isn't coming...I hate to leave without him, but let's go."

((There, happy? When I don't have time to do a full post, I don't have time. DEAL with it.))

"Well then, lets not waste anymore time. Since Torque won't be joining us on the rest of the trip, that means we don't have anyone slowing us down, grab me by the wrist and hold on tight, I can teleport us about half the way, and still have enough energy to continue walking at a normal pace." he said to Thaltos.

Thaltos nodded his head and grasped Balthizar's wrist firmly, and Balthizar did the same.

Balthizar concentrated his energy to extend to Thaltos, as he felt the two become one, as did Thaltos presumably, he started to engulf them in a flame, which would instantly kill a normal human. Then the two vanished in a wisp of smoke and traveled far across the land until they came to an abrupt halt, and came back into existence.

As soon as they came back into being, and the surroundings came back clear, instead of just a large blur, Balthizar fell forward, and gasped for air. He got up slowly, obviously tired from the teleport, he said to Thaltos, "I guess I overestimated myself." He chuckled, his strength coming back a little, and his heartbeat steading.

 

[Vadriel]

Thaltos chuckled. "It looks to me like you UNDERestimated yourself. You brought us more than half the way, Balthizar. That's my mother's temple just over those trees."

Thaltos pointed to a blackened stone structure looming up through the trees about a mile away. Once made of beautiful pristine marble, the hundreds of years of serving as Astheno's home had left its effect on the ancient stone, the smooth white rock turned a charred, tarlike black. The subtle veins of the marble now protruded from the surface, pulsing as if real veins. In a few places, they even leaked a murky, molasses-like substance that oozed down the walls.

The entire structure looked like a festering wound even amidst the dank swamplands in which it stood, a scar on the face of this world. Within it, Thaltos knew, lay the venomous snake that had filled his veins with venom.

A great spiral tower rose into the skies, starting at the heart of the temple and soaring up above the treetops, its sides a twisted stairway lined by massive columns.

"It is in that tower that my mother makes her bedchambers. I remember...this is where I grew up until I was nine years of age, and ready to go serve my father and draw blood in the name of Olympus. Rest a moment, Balthizar. Regain your strength, for we are soon to face challenges the likes of which few mortals have encountered and lived to speak of."

Balthizar was thankful for the rest, "Considering I've been through Hell and back again more than twice, this should be a breeze." he joked as he sat down on a small boulder.

"What should we expect to face when we arrive? I hope the have some kind of fruit basket, I didn't come all this way to be greeted by a rude guest." he chuckled.

 

[Asakai-miko-Midoriko]

Reise rubbed her eyes before peeking under her bed."Kai what ar eyou doing under my bed?....Did Abelia try to dress you up again?" Asakai slid back out standing up."No just a friendly game of hide and seek that's all. I didn't mean to disturb you." Asakai spoke heading towards the door."Try the left hall third door on the left." Reise smiled waving her goodbye. Asakai nodde dopening the door looking aroudn before taking off again.

Torque was already outside the door, smiling at Asakai, he poked her stomach. He was out of breath an sweating. "Eeerg, I'm not a demon, it's not really fair for someone to have that much stamina." He said "I need a break..." He wheezed and sat down. "How long until Daemon starts to kill me?" He asked her, looking into her eyes. "I want him dead so we may start our family together."

 

[Asakai-miko-Midoriko]

She smiled kneeling beside him handing him the water."You've got a few more lessons to go...but you should be impressed. You've lasted pretty long. Your next lesson is reading. We'll go to the library in the fortress. You might even get to meet my mentor." She helped Torque up and escorted him to the library.

Torque took a swig of the water. He smiled weakly at Asakai, she was dodging his question but it didn't matter. "Right...let's see this mentor of yours." He said, taking her hand as she helped him up and the couple headed towards the library. Torque wasn't as fond of reading as his father was, his father being a scholar on the whole Dragonis family and all. Torque preferred the path of the warrior.

 

[Asakai-miko-Midoriko]

She lead him down a few corridors before approaching a set of open double, large, ebony doors. There were quite a number of people scurrying aroudn the massive shelves fulll of scolls and books. In the middle of the large room was quite an enormous beast. He was a blue skinned bull demon with a pair of large twisting white horns, as well as a golden ring through his snout. The demon looked like he was reading a very large book. Though he was enclosed by massive stacks of text. Asakai approached the demon kickign the desk which made one of the large books knock the massive bull on the head. He growled looking up before smiling.

"Asakai. What brings you here? Shouldn't you be off beating the hell out of the new troops?" The bull surprizingly had a gentle voice." Unfortunately I'm not quite that bored. Torque this is my Mentor...Asteroth. Asteroth this is Torque." She spoke her hands on her hips lazily. Asteroth looked at torque with golden eyes adjusting the spectacles. he gave a snort then a smile."I see. So this is the young man of rumor. I expected someone a bit larger to have tamed such a wild girl." Asteroth stood reaching a height of six foot five inches."I have to give you credit though. You'd have to be pretty strong to have bedded this little tike." Asteroth ruffled Asakai's hair. Asakai turned a shade of crimson. Asteroth noted this and laughed."That's not funny!" She growled glaring at him."My apologies...I suppose you are here to do some reading of your own. Follow me boy. We can work on your training as well Asakai." Asteroth began to lead them to a close dof section of the massive library.

"I think I've rested enough," Balthizar said getting up, "We should get moving."

Thaltos nodded his head as he gathered his things.

"I still do not fully know the way, so lead on Thaltos."

Torque was ushered into the large library and he was taken aback by the size of this massive demon who hat tutored Asakai in the past. He was awfully lighthearted for a big guy though. Torque couldn't help but grin at the joke he had made about Torque bedding Asakai and then seeing Asakai's face light up. It was then that Torque laughed, really laughed for what seemed like the first time in ages. "You needn't worry yet, sir. We hadn't gotten that far in the relationship yet, although Daemon wants us to speed things up." He said, then his expression turned dead serious. "So that she would conceive and then I'd be of no further use and then discarded." He said in a razor sharp tone. He followed the librarian, Astaroth into the huge library. Torque silently thought to himself at how his father would love a room like this. He sighed though, he never had any interest in books but it looks like his slavery here was forcing him too. He decided then that since he was practically a prisoner, that he would not shave his beard for as long as he was here.

 

[Asakai-miko-Midoriko]

"No one ever comes under Daemon's control without reason." Asteroth pulled athick black book from one of the shelves setting it on a desk for Torque. He opened the book to a very colorful page with many pictures and text."Start with this chapter and then we'lll mov oen to the heavier text...Asakai I want you to begin your sets. Can't have you fainting in the middle of the ceremony from exhaustion." Asteroth smiled dropping five large books upon her back as she began her push ups effectively knocking her on her chest she glared and growled up at him before resuming. Asteroth then turned his attention back to Torque grabbing a stool to sit down in front of him.

"As I said young man no one ever becomes one of Daemon's slaves without reason. I can assume from what you told me you're here for Asakai. What men won't do for a woman...." Asteroth smiled shaking his head."I had a family once. Beautiful wife...three boys, and a baby girl. We had a house on an island in a nice little village...Once Daemon and his forces came in everyone was gone. In exchange for my services Daemon has agreed to free my family's souls....Enough with my woes we have but little time to make you knowledgeable."

Asteroth gave a snort before beginning to lecture Torque on what his purpose in the ceremony was. Pointing to the pictures in the book as he spoke."You see there are a need of three sacrafices in order to open the gates. One of Heaven, Hell, and Earth. But these three sacrafices have a certain quality upon them to which they have been chosen. The sacrafice of heaven must be a bastard god a son of the highest power. The sacrafice of hell must be a demon under servitude. The sacrafice of earth must be a cursed soul. One who's lineage goes back far enough to be called one with the earth. This white figure here..." Asteroth laid a gaint finger upon the middle of a circle with a person in it on the page."This is the key. They're role is to activate the three sacrafices turning them into immortal warriors. Giving them the ability to raise armies of untold magnitude. In other words the perfect force. The sacrafices will only maintain this power as long as the key is alive. Once the key is killed or dies their power is transferred to their master in which the master may absorb the key's power, as well as the sacrafices power. The master will become a God."

 

[VoxEladrin]

Torque listened to the lecture of the ceremony and already figured out what was going to happen. "So...we go through with this ceremony. Asakai would be the key and once Thaltos, Balthizar and myself raise these armies, Daemon will kill Asakai and then kill us after becoming a damned god." He sighed. "Can't these villains come up with anything original?" He asked, exasperated.

Balthizar followed Thaltos for a while until Thaltos came to a halt, obviously they were at their destination.

"Well, what now?" Balthizar asked Thaltos.

[Asakai-miko-Midoriko]

Asteroth just gave a small snort."Not exactly. Daemon can't kill something that's immortal.But you can." Asteroth then pointed to the next diagram where the white figure was being stabbed by a sword that looked like Deathscream."There are only three ways to destroy the key. One the key voluntarily commits an act of suicide. Two the merciful goddess herself gives up her immortaility and powers in exchange for the key's death....then option three is this blade of souls pulls the soul of the key itself and its owner absorbs the key's power." Asakai gave a laugh."We don't have to worry about the last two options. My destiny was predetermined.I will make a sacrafice in sin. I will be the key to end the cycle. I will die and the key and its destiny will be destroyed." Asteroth threw a book at her knocking her off balance."Shut up and get back to training."There was obvious pain in the Teacher's voice. Asaki sat up rubbing her head."It's the truth. The only other option is the last and I refuse to allow it. At least if I die my powers can't be passed on."
