[Asakai-miko-Midoriko]

She paused in the clearing of the large forest."...I should've taken a knife before I left...those damn branches...." She picked a few branches out of her hair before taking a look around. She knelt down feeling the soil...it was warm."Someone....just left in a hurry..." She stood taking a few steps foreward and then felt a very cold blade to her neck. She then heard him speak." So you're not as easy to fool as I thought." She tried to jerk backwards but found herselfpinned face first into the ground."Name yourself..." She grumbled."...sorry but no can do. You midht lead him to my trail."

Balthizar got up, he couldn't sleep, he had too much on his mind. He slowly walked to the entrance way, he was about to call out to Thaltos, but he was nowhere to be found. He took a quick look around, he then heard a slight shift above him, as Balthizar peered up, he saw Thaltos in a sort of deep trance. Balthizar, deciding it was not the best time, turned away, and began to go back to his resting place....

 

[Vadriel]

Thaltos snapped to attention when he heard Balthizar below him, and he opened his mouth to say something to him when he caught a small sound in the trees. The bit of rustling that Asakai had been making had stopped, and there had been a slight thump.

Thaltos paused for only a second, then hopped lightly down to the ground behind the retreating Balthizar. His eyes narrowed at the trees, he beckoned to Balthizar to be quiet.

"Something's not quite right. Asakai went into the treeline, she's been disturbed by something...and now I don't hear her anymore. I'm going to go check it out, you stay with Torque. If anything goes wrong that I can't handle, I'll send a spark from the Shears up into the sky, and that'll be the signal for you to wake up Torque and come play cavalry."

Without waiting for confirmation from Balthizar, Thaltos stealthily slunk into the trees after Asakai.

Balthizar didn't have time to reply as Thaltos raced off into the trees.
All Balthizar could do was stand inside the entryway and wait, wait for Thaltos's signal. Which Balthizar very much believed would come.

Thaltos moved swiftly and silently through the trees, moving with all the stealth that the Gods' chief assassin should possess. Sensing a minute commotion ahead, and hearing a hushed voice, Thaltos slowed. He moved up into the trees, moving through the treetops to remain unseen in the event of a vigilant attacker.

Thaltos continued to move through the branches until he came upon the shadowed form of Asakai pinned to the ground beneath an unidentifiable figure. The darkness was too thick for him to make out the features of the person, or if it was even human, but the intonation of its hushed voice sounded male.

Positioned in the trees directly above the pair, Thaltos waited to see what was about to happen, before he'd take any action against the manlike figure. If he showed any evidence of preparing to hurt Asakai, Thaltos was ready to slay him quickly and cleanly. If he was careful, he might not even get any blood on Asakai...

 

[Asakai-miko-Midoriko]

"Your voice...it is familiar....."She spoke still face down in the ground."I suppose I should....I'll make you a deal you leave here without saying anything to your buddies and I won't have to kill you." The man let her sit up still having her face foreward."...you don't have what it takes to kill me. Your voice is like Torques...you must be his brother." She cold hear his lips part in retaliation but she stopped him."It's why you won't let me see your face..." She was cut off when he turned her around. Her face went nearly pale before the figure moved closer to her and then was gone. She became angry." I'll kill you!" She nearly shouted and was about to take off when she nearly fell into a traphole standing on the edge.".....If I ever see him...I'll castrate him." She turned storming out of the clearing torwards the forest.

Thaltos watched as events unfolded. He almost smirked as he realized that Asakai was in no real danger. This man, if it was Torque's brother, didn't desire to hurt her. When he "disappeared," and Asakai started to leave, Thaltos shrugged.

Plopping to the ground behind her, not bothering to be stealthy, Thaltos caught Asakai's hands as she whirled on him.

"Easy there. It's me. I was watching from the trees in case he turned out to be worrisome for you."

Releasing her hands, he crossed his arms.

"Anything else to do out here, or do you want to head back to the shrine?"

 

[Asakai-miko-Midoriko]

She calmed herself as Thaltos spoke to her."...We should return to the shrine...I am sure Torque would want to know his enemy is close by...." She was blushing as she spoke.

 

[Vadriel]

Thaltos did smirk this time. He bowed graciously and extended a hand in the direction of the shrine.

"After you, of course. Oh, and we can say that you were ambushed, but that I scared him away before you could retaliate. A girl's got to keep her tough-stuff image, yes?"

 

[Asakai-miko-Midoriko]

She narrowed her eyes."....I suppose so.... She began walking back towards the trail to the shrine. After she was out of the forest she headed up to where Torque was and began to nudge him to wake him."...Torque....Torque wake up..."

 

[Ninja_Blue]

Balthizar gave Torque a quick kick in the side, "Hey! Wake up! Thaltos and Asakai are back."

Balthizar looked up to Asakai, "So, what took so long?" Balthizar let out a light chuckle.

 

[Asakai-miko-Midoriko]

She growls at him before attempting to smack him hard. A part of her was still pissed off from the forest."TORQUE!" She yelled right next to his ear.'i swear....if I ever see him again...I'll not only castrate him....I'll kill him...bring him back to life and kill him again!' Her mind screamed.

 

[Ninja_Blue]

Balthizar placed a hand on Asakai's shoulder, "Asakai, calm down please, we don't need to damage the man's hearing."

 

[Asakai-miko-Midoriko]

She glared at him hard enough to give him shivers."Remove the hand or lose it...." She spoke venom dripping from her words. She was very angry...and it wasn't about to subside easily."...Torque if you don't wake up so help me I kill your brother befor eyou do!" She yelled again. She was red with rage and embaressment.

 

[Ninja_Blue]

Balthizar gestured Thaltos to get over to him, "Asakai, I ask you in the kindest way possible, to please word your sentences carefully, I wish between us all to be peace, I would not want any bloodshed. But if necessary, it can happen....."

 

[Vadriel]

Thaltos chuckled. "Easy, Balthizar. She's not in the finest of form at this moment..there was a slight 'encounter' in the woods, and it elevated her temper a bit. Give her a little space."

He solemned up and turned to Asakai. "However, you do need to relax a little. Torque's brother is not his responsibility, and you needn't persecut Torque for the actions of his brother. Relax, he must be quite asleep...he'll wake up when he wakes up."

 

[Asakai-miko-Midoriko]

She huffed before turning around and laughing a little."It is no ofense to anyone...I just don't like to be touched....besides Balthizar causing me harm...that's a laugh..." She smirked before heading down the shrine. She decided to visit her mother's statue to clear her head." Mother...." She sat before the statue laying a nearby Iris before it.'....what is this feeling...this feeling not of hatred....Is it possible that this feeling is what you so sought me to look for?..." She shook her head."No my mission is to retrieve the scriptures at any cost...to free Akira and kill Ekiji....and then...rid myself of this exsistance..." She spoke softly.

 

[Ninja_Blue]

Balthizar turned to Thaltos and said "The girl is a tad too headstrong, and being headstrong can get someone killed."

 

[Asakai-miko-Midoriko]

She chose to meditate before her mother. She couldn't quite understand herself as to why the event had made her so angry.' It was just a kiss...I shouldn't be so...upset. Though I am outraged....so many questions...I have never felt this much emotion....I don't like it....emotions are just signs of weakness...' She sighed starting to relax a bit."...I should apologize...but first I need to hurt something." She stood and headed back up the stairs. Ususally when she was angry she would train back at the Chang 'an temple...it was not often but when she did they usually had to replace all the equipment.She walked over to the gate of the entrance and gave it a hard kick. She walked back towards Balthizar."...I apologize for my rage...I should not have attacked you...even though you don't deserve an apology I feel generous." She walked past him to sit on the shrine edge. Just as she sat down the gate entrance crumbled to dust. She gave a slight smirk of satisfaction.

 

[Vadriel]

Thaltos sighed and shook his head. This team wasn't much of one, in his opinion...but hey who was he to judge? There were more important things to think about...the Shears of Atropos were nearly drained, they probably couldn't fire off a decent lightning bolt in this state...Thaltos hoped that the next batch of enemies they would inevitably come across would be easily dealt with so as to replenish their stores. Thaltos was always uneasy when the Shears were at low power...it made him feel vulnerable, even as strong of a fighter as he was without their enchantments.

Whatever the case, there was little to do now except allow Torque to sleep, and do the same. Morning would come soon, and with it a new day most likely full of trouble. After the night's events, some rest would be most welcome.

Thaltos walked over to a corner and slumped against it. "I'm getting some rest, let Torque sleep. It's unlikely anything will happen before morning, and the approaching day will likely be more bearable to rested warriors."
