The first time all the things she said came out MTV jumped at the chance to put them on TRL, the Spanking new thingy whenever a show is over (in the credits), and of course the movie awards which had to be the best performance. But at first mtv promoted them then vh1 then so on. What I was trying to say was that they weren't promoted well the 1st week their album came out but all those fans knew who they were.

Actually, some bands do get popular because they suck. Britney spears isn't a very good singer at all (in my opinion), yet she is still popular. Why? Tons of people think she's ****ing hot. Half of her fans probably don't even like her music...who knows.

I've read that article about the singer of tatu masturbating on stage or whatever. And the fact that EVERYONE knows that they are lesbians pulls in tons of publicity. It isn't about their music, it's about horny little bastards seeing their shows and becoming fans because of their sexual preferance and appearance.

Personally, I think they're better at masturbating than singing. Exactly why I say they suck horribly.

All music artist have their way of getting peoples attention. For t.A.T.u, it was "Omg did you hear about those lesbians they kiss in their video" So people would watch all the things she said and listen to it and suddenly find themselves singing it. They dragged ppl in by kissing and ppl stayed and listen to their music. Good strategy
