I don't see how the words under god offend anyone to the extent that they need to change the pledge, if they make changes over this then people will be pushing for more changes for even stupider reasons.

Under God should'nt be in the pledge for the simple reason that it wasn't there at it's conception, and just got added by what can only be described as that asswipe joe mccarthy.

In school I always Said "Under Clam" No one ever heard me since they were too busy saying the wrong thing. Maybe if they would have heard me they'd have learned the truth a whole lot sooner.

Who needs God any how?

What has he done for you?

He's just a two bit jizz mopper from the 31st century any how.

lol, Clamism -.-
I think they should take it out immediatley or put ban on trying to get in ban to stop the constant bitching about. Either way they can either skip god or add god.

Well...the seperation would take a lot, it really would. It's just good that they are starting to take it from the school system. They are already turning our children into drones, enough is enough.

But to complete the transition, they would have to remake all of our currency to stop saying "In God We Trust"

I have nothing against the christian religion to be honest...I just think that it takes away from parts of our freedom, well, to the confused young children anyway. If all they see is God, what other religion would they have to look into? Of course I will raise my children knowing that I'm pagan and they will grow up knowing that they father believes that the blood is the magick, but thats my right isn't it? I'm not going to make my whole house my alter or anything, but if I marry a christian (VERY possible...), there will be a pinnacle next to the cross. And my child will know the ins and outs of both religions and anything else s/he asks for, just because it is an American right.

Just because you don't believe in it doesn't mean you can't respect another religion. That is what this whole thing is about, you don't like it than skip that line and let everyone else say it, or say whatever you want.

A word is a word. It really shouldn't have been added to the pledge in the first place (in my opinion), but I really don't care either way.

Well TreeFrog, you are right to an extent. There is just a small problem that I have been sent to in school suspension for leaving that part out because they say that I'm "Defying authority". You must realize the system is bullshit and very corrupt..

They should replace it with "one nation, with faith" because that can be used for all religions.

I wasn't being serious lol. They can't just take out "under God" and then replace it with nothing. The pledge wouldn't sound right, "with faith" was all I had but as Spike and Forged pointed out athiests would cuss at that.
