Did anyone like this game for the N64? I played it everytime I was at my cousins house, I also played it for computer at a friends house a few times and it's a pretty cool game in my opinion. Buying parts for your racer is a little confusing to me though, however it is nice to see the enviroments that are really big and interactive. There's ma track on Cloud City, that is virutally a sky race. It's really hard not to fall to your death and die. Overall I liked it, just some of the maps, like that one, were bloody hard for me to actually even get a decent place on.

I used to play this all the time on PC! hah... I might have to reinstall it now o.o
I always used Anakin, and upgraded my racer every chance I got to be super blazingly fast. There were a couple of tracks that were bitches at very high speeds though, heh.

Oddly enough, it IS strangly addictive, for a racing game. I usually detest racing games, but this one is a bit different. Probably because it's Star Wars Style, and also because Pod Racers are damned cool.

I fully completed that game with all the parts any everything. The trick is just do Winner Take All and you got the money you need. The races get fun when they are the super long ones. Sebulba is the one that shoots flames out, but I think his pod sucks. I know which one I use but I forgot its name.

Cloud City isnt the threat. The worse one is the last one you race on. You have to stay on the top track or you will lose BIG TIME!

I dont like the one...wait, that's cloud city. The one where therw's two levels in the sky, and staying on the top one guarentee's a great deal of time subtracted from reaching the finish line. Whereas you fall down, die, and respond on the bottom level, it's nearly impossible to get in first place after that.

The best races are on Oovo IV. The Guantlet being the coolest! Although I like the environments and such, great game anyday. I hate that course and one of the races on the Rainforest Planet (favorite is Anakin Skywalker, his pod crap btw).

This is my favorite racer ever. You have intense speed, great sound effects and a good deal of racers. There are plenty of tracks, each with a unique theme and graphics were alright for its time.

The best part of the game would be the upgrade system. It's true that if you buy a part for a device, it will make it perform better, but eventually it will wear down. This is what seperates this game from any other racers from today. The parts break down so it's not a "OMG I GOT PART XXX, SO THE REST OF THE GAME IS EZAY!". Even with the best parts, you increase your chance of breaking them because you go faster, so the game feels more challenging.

Multiplayer is weak, but most other racing games do too. Another great feature about the game is there is lots of departments of rankings on the racers. Many racing games only have a speed/acceleration/turning ratings, but this one provides many more such as grip and cooling.

It's a pity that the sequel was only released for the PS2, but for those who played it: was it any good?
