Such a godly game. I played it in an arcade too and you actually use the podracing style controls. I think I remember the sequel, it was pretty much the same thing though.

There was a sequel? Was it for computer? I watched Episode I last night and i reminded me how cool Pod Racers were in general, now I want to play the game again.

I used to play that on 64. I think I can still remember my racers name that I used - Odie Mandel? Something like that. He had a pod that was like a donut on it's side, went super fast. Don't know if I ever truly finished the game, but I got pretty far. I had the most fun on this ice level, where you are racing down this frozen water fall, and onto this huge ice lake. Me and my brother used to race unti that point, then slide around like idiots trying to slam into each other, since your taction is shit on ice - good times, lots of laughs when you hit someone going like, what, 300 mph?
