And I couldn't be happier. I coaxed my boss into giving me Batman for free with it, and I also bought Uncharted, Ratchet & Clank, and The Darkness. I finished the first two within 7 days so I returned them and got Killzone 2 and MGS4 which I will keep.

I've already downloaded a few demo's; Lost Planet 2 and Brutal Legend. Both of which are fucking awesome!

Not having to buy a charger kit, wireless detector, or pay to play online is pretty much win. Once again PS3 > 360.

Too bad newegg doesnt ship to Aus. Buy metal gear solid, then play that until Call of Duty 4 2 comes out.

I got MGS4 for 50AUD since it's platinum. I haven't played that yet because I know it will be a long game and I want to finish Batman and Killzone 2 first. I'll be getting Modern Warfare 2 on PC anyway.

I am behind the curve by many years. I'm still debating if I want a gaming system. I would want the PS3 for the Blu-ray capabilities. But I like the games for Xbox more. And I want to keep the Wii an option because who doesn't love Mario?

Wait, you returned Uncharted, but kept Ratchet & Clank? Not planning to play Uncharted 2, I assume?

I like the ps3, but the games for the 360 just appeal to me more. Never liked racing games, so I don't give a crap for neither WipeOut or GT.

As for playing online: Live rocks. I have played online on both systems, and can't find anything wrong with the ps3 online system. It's just that there are so many easy to use options with Live, and I never even once had lag.
Further, who cares that Live costs money? Without it, you can only play offline multiplayer, which most new games don't even support anymore. Buying new games all the time because of that is more expensive then buying Live. Still costs more then ps online, but I just don't give a crap.

Only thing I would want a ps3 for is the larger hard drive. The 120 gb in the 360 Elite just isn't enough, and it's impossible to put in a larger one. Afaik, you CAN do that with a ps3, which is awesome.

As for the controller: I play with a wire controller on my 360. Don't like the weight of wireless controllers.

Hmm, almost forgot about not being able to play Final Fantasy. To bad, but I can live with that. Plenty of other good rpg titles. Mass Effect 2 is going to be awesome. :D

FFXIII is coming out on both 360 and PS3. I did return Ratchet & Clank with Uncharted. They are both games you play once then put away. I will get the sequels to those games if they ever come out. Uncharted 2 is gonna be awesome. Also, there is just as many racing games on the 360 then there is on the PS3, except for maybe Motorstorm which is a PS3 exclusive (And is fucking awesome too).

Can't wait for Tekken 6.

My username on the PSN is Rhinox_

The FF thing is good news for me. Thanks.

And yeah, Motorstorm is awesome. Used to play it often with a friend who has a ps3, but I get bored fast with games without a storyline.

As for fighting games: meh. More of a Smash Brothers player if I really have to. Love the Tekken characters, though.

Tekken 6 is also coming to Xbox.... That is something I am very happy with because I was somewhat upset I wouldn't be able to play it.

Lol. Nothing is exclusive anymore, it seems. Only a select few triple A titles. I feel bad for ps3 owners not having Gears of War. So much better then Resistance. The characters in Resistance are just empty shells. The multiplayer in the sequal is soppused to be amazing, though.

So what exclusive would one buy a ps3 for? (when ignoring system specs and multiplatform games) I can only think of Killzone. Or LittleBigPlanet when really, really drunk. Maybe Infamous, but it's said to be buggy. Prototype has more awesome powers anyways. (aargh, also for both consoles)

Then again, I can't think of many exclusive 360 games that are awesome.

I have a 4 day weekend starting last night and ending Tuesday morning. Games, movies, surfing (yes I try), and plenty other activities to do downtown Waikiki :) Hawaii is amazing but I still have time in my room to sit around and read a book or play comp/video games.

Most of my friends have Xbox so I'm more likely to go that route but at this point I am still pretty much on the fence. :bounce2:

No reason to own a 360 anymore, with the exception of the Halo universe of games, and the Gears of War universe of games.

Literally everything else is either exclusive, or better on the PS3 now a days. Look at the Batman game for example, you can get the Joker download content for free from day one just for buying it on the PS3. It'll be released later (like 6 months after release) on the 360 for 5$ or 10$ in M$ points. Then you have the games like Tales of Vespiria and Star Ocean 4, the Ninja Gaiden games which were "360 exclusives" - until about a half a year to a year later when they get released on the PS3 with the FULL content as opposed to a gimped version.

Also, theres a 360controller adapter for the PS3 you can pick up or make for like 5$ so even if you don't like the PS3 controller you have no excuse now.

Oh, and hello superior online system for free.

Did you play that? How does this work? Does the joker fight the joker?

How the feck is ps3 online superior? I think they are pretty equal. Live would've even easily beaten if Live Anywhere hadn't failed so hard as it did. Microsoft has better service when something goes wrong, though. At least here in Holland.

As for exclusives: plenty of ps "exclusives" come to other systems these days. Few examples: Resident Evil, Pro Evolution Soccer, Final Fantasy, GTA, do I need to name even more?

Also: who has a 1080p tv anyway? Both consoles are pretty equal at the moment, I think. The only thing I worry about is the capacity of blue-ray. That's quite a lot of data compared to hd-dvd. Going to suck for games with a lot of cinematics later on.

Oh, and there's another 360 game that many people are looking forward to: Alan Wake. I could also mention Rare, but they've been slacking ever since Microsoft bought them. I want a Blast Corps 2 on Live Arcade. :D

Edit:
And how is the ps3 better if you need a 360 controller for a nice gaming expirience? The controller is like, half the console.

Live cost $, but the connection is superb.

PSN cost 0, but the connection is through a clothes line.

It's only on the challenge missions. But he plays completely different from batman. It's very well done.

Some of the OLD PS3 online games are on the companies servers, not the PS3 online network. This is where a LOT (lets say 95%) of the flak for the PS3 online system comes from. Not the system itself, but from the few games early on that wern't on it. Also, Live's non-gaming content can't even hold a candle to the likes of the PSN's superior choices.

As for exclusives: plenty of ps "exclusives" come to other systems these days. Few examples: Resident Evil, Pro Evolution Soccer, Final Fantasy, GTA, do I need to name even more?
I never said otherwise. However, in nearly every case as of late (because you can't compare year 1 PS3 with year 2 360 development) the PS3 port/version is superior in nearly every way. Load times, graphics, content, etc etc. And, in the cases where a game is transfered from PS3 to 360, the game is SEVERELY limited on the 360. FFXIII is a perfect example. They had to dumb the fuck out of the overall resolution and pixilation for it to work on the 360. However, take a look at the things I mentioned like the Ninja Gaiden games or Vesperia, or SO4 where the CLEARLY superior version is on the PS3 some year or so later.

Also: who has a 1080p tv anyway? Both consoles are pretty equal at the moment, I think. The only thing I worry about is the capacity of blue-ray. That's quite a lot of data compared to hd-dvd. Going to suck for games with a lot of cinematics later on.
Are you kidding me? I have a 54 inch 1080p sitting in my living room, with a 34 inch 1080p sitting in my bedroom. My computer moniters are dual 24 inch widescreen 1080p output HD montiers. Just becasue you're too poor to afford a good setup doesn't mean you can just glaze over those huge differences. And that last thought doesn't even make sense. Blu-Ray discs are huge storage discs. Take a look at MGS4. It's all on one disc, and most of the game is a fucking movie. The director of the game said it himself - "To make MGS4 on the (360), would have taken a far greater amount of discs than used before". You simply cannot compare how much of a difference a Blu-Ray game over a normal DVD game have when it comes to storage and data on disc.

Oh, and there's another 360 game that many people are looking forward to: Alan Wake. I could also mention Rare, but they've been slacking ever since Microsoft bought them. I want a Blast Corps 2 on Live Arcade. :D
And for every person looking forward to Alan Wake, I'm sure theres 2x the amount waiting for the superior game: Uncharted 2: Drakes Fortune.

Edit:
And how is the ps3 better if you need a 360 controller for a nice gaming expirience? The controller is like, half the console.
You don't need it, but some people prefer the 360 controller over the PS3. And to think that the controller makes up half the console and half the experience is just plain dumb.
