Thank you for enlightening me to the existance of those Europe only cars, we don't have the Mondeo, Ka, Fiesta or Maverick(new car with old name) in the US. PLEASE point out the tacky plastic bumpers that are different colors than the body of the car in these pics:

A google image search for "2008 Ford Maverick" turned up a bunch of classic Mavericks, which were bad ass. So...where's the plastic on this?
You've got me here, but honestly until bumpers were made out of plastic, all trucks had chrome bumpers that were a different color than the body panels.
I mean no offense in my sarcastic response, and I respect your opinion on cars more than anyone elses on this forum since my dad is also a mechanic. However, the styling of new Ford cars is far from tacky, especially in the case of the Fusion, new Mustang, and the Mondeo which I only know exists because you just ripped on it.
I don't give a **** what Consumer Reports says. The things they rate vehicles on are absurd, and are probably being paid off by the automakers that get the high ratings.
All cars made by Japanese companies are ugly and underpowered(ok this one's just a troll) but seriously, who wants to sound like a bee trapped in a coffee can going down the road? Not me, and not anyone else with a pair of nuts.

Japan's Automakers are so much ****ing better than America's. Pretty much if you buy a car from any of the Axis nations you'll get a decent car.

the rest of the world sees the ford badge and gets a bit of a different image to you, as in the rotting peice of **** / plastic toy car family runabout. something along the lines of this.

im not gonna bore you with the crap im bored with any more but you get the idea. and they only tend to put pictures of the slightly less tacky but still tacky lx and ghia trim models. this **** is what we get. big corporation like, all nice looking, patriotic, all that ****, then they expand their market overseas by throwing together a few bits of plastic, just assume that were completely self disrespectfull and gonna want one of them, expecting the market to boom.
meanwhile me, europe, and everywhere else in the world with any sense of self esteem laughs at the **** theyre trying to sell us, ignores it and dubs it the ****ty tacky family car that you can drive into a ditch and forget about for the night, walking away to buy a real car. At least BMW and VAG show their true colours overseas.
you see what i mean now, i know what you mean when you say it from your side of the puddle, ford might be all sleek and shiny to you, but not overseas, thats a pretty big factor in why theyre having some trouble and thats why theyre ****.
ah and for the record jap cars do look crappy, i wouldnt say theyre better, theyre just better at making an engine that belongs in a golf cart go quicker (and blow a head gaskit quicker)..

Japan really started the reliability in cars actually. A Toyota Hilux can be put on top of a 20-story building, have the building blown up and still run without any replacement parts.
As for looking good there are plenty of good looking Japanese cars.

im talking about the internals. jap cars tend to have smaller engines than american muscle and even some of the heavyweight euro sports cars. only difference is that their high end cars tend to do the opposite of america and wind the compression ratio right up with precise made turbos and intercoolers and injection, sacrificing engine life for power, really high reving. thats where all the asian rice cracker modding boy racer steriotype comes in..

Seeing as you've only ever driven a Ford, plus the fact that being a "man" means more to you than contributing somewhat to making the environment a better place, I don't see any point in arguing this.

Ok elysium, I see your perspective and respect it, but don't agree. I won't argue it though. After your statement about Jap cars though, I love you. For the record, whoever said RX-7s look good, you can thank Ford. Ford owns a large percentage of Mazda, although I'm not sure exactly how much. Ever look at a Mazda tribute and then a Ford Escape? Yep, same thing.
