Scientists in Japan may have "solved" the mystery of alien abductions and sleep paralysis (S.P.).
S.P. isn't new, and I've experienced it many times myself. It usually happens in a light sleep and people are semi-coherent. For me, it feels like an out-of-body experience so I think its alright. Except I can't move and takes a lot of will/mental power to snap out of it.
But these scientists who are studying this find that a lot of people panic (duh) and bad thoughts come to them such as monsters, or whatever holding them down. Now here is the fun part!
Culture has A LOT to do with it. Each culture has its own monsters/nightmares. I guess in Japan some dead white pale lady is the fearsome one there. In America, I guess, aliens are. Whether aliens themselves are scary enough, my money is AMERICANS are more scared
of a greater, more civilized race having control over them. =\
