Rumors on getting better rune drops

Everyone seems to have a favored rumor, that seems to help when getting a rune drop, or to better the chances of getting a rune. List the rumors you have heard.

The chest behind mephisto can drop any rune in Hell.
When doing forge, repair the hammer then active forge.
Doing a pit run you can get any item in hell including any runes.

Im are pretty sure pit and the Meph chest can drop anything. I think reparing the hammer is fake though, because I recently repaired the hammer and got a hel rune LoL. (on hell)

hrm i've heard that if you hit the stone once then town portal repair the hammer then hit the stone to break it you'll get a high rune.. prolly not true.

The repairing hammer one is definitly not true.....7 out of 10 times i repair the hammer I get Fal.....the other 3 times i get Lum

Well, I've done it a little differently. I've been bestowed a few sts by using the hammer and getting it to a low duribility, 1-3 or so. Then I smash it and hope for an Ist. Doesn't always work from my experience, but I find it to be in general a lot nicer then smashing it right off and getting a Fal Rune or something.

if you stand on your head with your pants pulled down at the exact moment you hit mephistos soulstone you get zod :shocked --- i dont think anything helps--- its all random--- i just dont think blizzard took the time to tweak little characteristics that would increase your percentages of getting higher runes--- 100% sure is all random

but wait--- i heard a rumor you can if you let the hammer guy chase you all the way to diablo and kill both of them at the exact same time---lol--- i know you cant get zod--- and i also know that nothing in the gamers power increases the rune drop--- what you get,is what you get

I was just saying. I'm trying to keep all threads in this forum on-topic, if you get my drift. Also, please don't double post. Use the edit button. As for rumors, I heard one awhile ago where you go talk to every NPC then Tyrael last, and then you do your forge and *supposidly* you may get a better runedrop. Rumors are so weird.

I also heard that if you beat hell diiff, and have all 3 diff quests done on all acts you get a better drop. Once again just a rumor.

by the drop ratio of el,im pretty sure it'd be more then that.


also,wasin't there like a cube dupe rumor or something,i forgot it though


like,youd drop cube,with inventory full,with items in the cube,then leave cube on floor,then leave game,then when uget a new cube,the items still there or something =/

Which in turn means more cows to kill, that maybe drop a few good runes, right? Just wanrt to clarify seeing at it could mean something else.

I think countess is your best bet for runes

Sniff these packets:
Drop hellforge Hammer
Equipt any 2 handed item from inventory
Pick up Hell forge Hammer
Equipt Hell Forge Hammer

Player A (You) Enters the game, Player B Enters the game, Player B has completed the hell forge quest, Player A Has not.
Player A (You) Has the forge hammer, and the above packets sniffed, places the stone in the thingy and uses the cube thing to drop from the game.
Player A Enters the game again, Swings at the stone *WHILE* your char swings, send the above packets quickly, you should see your quest log, then get C/I.

Player B Collects the runes that dropped
Player A Joins a new game, (NOT THE OLD GAME) and sees the error 'this quest cannot be completed in this game'.
Player A Joins a new game of a differant difficulty, then rejoins the FIRST game.
Player A Now has an un-finished hell forge quest.

1) countess will drop higer runes with better mf and higher lvls
2) have a hi lvl rush u in hell and pick up the soulstone but, wait till about lvl 85 up 4 hellforge( hell only really, other drops gay...)
3) i heard that pindleskin can drop any runes or items in the game (exceptions: anni and runewords)

Mf has no baring on runedrops.
Ummm "runewords" dont drop anywhere, they are only made by adding runes to items in the right order.

I do believe IMO the higher the lvl the higher the rune drop in countess. But then again my lvl 91 sorc gets el's still in hell lol so whatever.
