A guest is defined as any user browsing any part of the forum that is not a registered member, or is not logged in. Spider bots fall into this category. Just because the guest term is not defined more specifically does not make it a bug.

Just because the definition within VB is somehting that is not a registered user doesn't mean it's not a bug. The bug of it is that it takes electronic programs as a substitute for a real human being. Nobody cares how many electronic bots are pinging the server, they want statistics that are reliable and make sense.

That isn't vB's definition, it's just a logical, rational and generally recognized definition. It doesn't substitute them for a real human, it just groups them with humans. It still recognizes them, as shown by the link I posted.

How is it rational or logical when it defines an electronic program as somebody who is a real human? That is why I call it a bug. It fails to make a formal definition of a human user and a program user. And Dictionary.com disagrees with you also Eric.

Bug: Informal. a defect or IMPERFECTION, as in a mechanical device, computer program, or plan; glitch: The test flight discovered the bugs in the new plane.

sigh

another pathetic thread by a pathetic member
Actually, it is a problem to some degree.

It depends on the forum as well.

On PSO:BB's forum, the date and time are necessary in the forum view to see when trade threads were last posted on, so people know if the trade is still going or not and how long ago.

For this forum, it would be good for handling things like bumping year old threads and shit.

The problem is: The skin.
