what exactly shoud I do in ordem to make the xtra editor to work properly? Every time I try to open any of the EXE the same error always comes up:
"the problem occured while trying to load a file:
unit/zerg/avenger.grp "

and then the prog closes.

Any body can help me?

PS: yes, all the files (including the .dll) are on the starcraft folder

PS 2: yes, I'm using the version 2.5 (the latest, I guess)

I've already did it, with no success. I'll try again anyway.
By the way, does the x-tra editor have problems with the version of starcraft you are using? Or I can use it with the 1.09 without fear?

thx for all the help

SCXE works just fine on my computer... And i don't think there is anything to fear when you patch it up tp 1.09.

It sounds like it's your stardat.mpq file that's broken, and it shud be fixed when you re-install SC. It almost sounds like you got the warez version of SC...

But if re-installing doesn't help, i cud send you the stardat.mpq file, and see if that works. If nothing else works, go to a store and buy a new one.

I might have messed up with that file you said "stardat.mpq" while I was trying to use one of those mpq editors, since I had no idea of what I was doing :)

Anyway, could you please send the "stardat.mpq", so I can see if it works.

Thx for all the help

SCX-Tra does not work on all operating systems. Check if it will work on yours, info is posted on the maker's site, I'm sure you can get to it through a link in a help file that comes with the patch.

You shouldn't have any problems running on '98.

I would send you the file you want, but, it's 64 meg, too big for my email to send.

Try this.....

Back up your maps, and saved games.
Un-install StarCraft.
Run a disk check, and Defrag your hard drive.
Restart your PC.
Install StarCraft,,, and Broodwars if you have it.
Get online, and patch up to 1.09 through Bnets servers.
Play a game online to make sure the patch worked.
Try the Standard Editor that comes with StarCraft.
(If it doesn't work at this point, you need to contack Blizzard Support)
Download a new copy of Xtra Editor, in case yours has a flaw.
You'll find a link in my Signature.
Install Xtra Editor.
Try it.

If it doesn't work, repost with any error messages, better help comes with better questions as it were.

Good luck,

I am not familiar with the AI scripts in your attachments, something definately is not right.

You mention in one post,,, "I was trying to use one of those mpq editors"

You may have swapped out a recent file for an older version to use the MPQ Editor.
With SCM Toolkit, it has to be installed to a copy of StarCraft that is NOT used for playing, or normal editing.
You may need to copy, and install your MPQ Editor, in something like this.

Xtra Editor, can be installed into your normal, playable StarCraft file.

Try the re-install, get a fresh start, and go from there.
I know it's a pain, but it may cure your problems.
