Did You Know?
When you die, the last thing you do is take a shit, and pee in your pants. (Because they are controlled by muscles, when you die, all those muslces expand)

Spontaneous Human Combustion...yet another unsolved phenomenon. Read about it somewhere but I still don't know how to explain it (yet). *BUT* there have been quite a few cases where the human body simply exploded without prior warning, thus shocking the unaware passerbys, leaving only a bit of the ankle and uncombusted foot...

Okay - having studied Psych for 2 years maybe I can shed some light here...

Dreams, according to Freud (who IMHO has done the most comprehensive work on dreams), are manifestations of thoughts and desires within the unconscious. Dreams are usually a combination of symbolic and 'literal' elements...

Let me stress that dreams represent the UNCONSCIOUS - things you know/feel but which you are not directly aware of at the moment. Freud's theory goes on to say that behaviour is motivated by unconscious mental processes (including the pleasure principle: that we work to maximise pleasure & minimise pain).

So - if you were (unconsciously) anticipating something - it makes sense then that you might dream of it and, without knowing it, behave to make that thing happen. It's one form of Self-Fulfilling Prophecy.

Hope that helps... but keep in mind that's Freud's explanation and not the only one.
Yes, the unconscious always picks up things that the conscious has never picked up before. Perhaps this is why the unconscious always forces us to react a certain way in certain situations.

that's happened to me so many times....i, too, would say it's coincidence, but i'd like to think otherwise, mainly because that would be...interesting. because i've dreamed things like what my brother will get on a test, what he'll say while doing a certain activity AND getting a certain score on that activity...and they were all accurate. i really don't know how my subconcious could pick that up, so there probably is *some* explanation...

i believe in the paranormal to some extent, such as other planets having sentient life, and not so much ghosts as...kind of mental projections of people...well, you know, those stories that people have about how they saw their dead soandso while in bed, sleeping, and they told them some reassuring tidbit...i dunno. i'd like to believe in magic, but...it's so...yea.

One example that we all encounter with the unconscious (you're not forced to agree with me, but we shall see):

The bed. What's it used for? To sleep, right? (No no boys, sleeping only in this context.) Say you're very wide awake in the late evening, but you're tired. When you flop on the bed, your conscious still says: I'm wide awake. But soon, you fall asleep. Why is that? Because your unconscious is telling you to sleep. The reason is that the unconscious associates the bed with slumber and it's already hammered in our minds, whether you're conscious or not.

Does anybody agree with me?

I believe in U.F.O's, Aliens, conspiracies, and the Philedelphia Experiment theories.

personally i DONT believe in ufos. I mean the USA had the stelth bomber for many years, they just recently released that they had it. People called it UFO because it cant be picked up on radar and detected what kinda of ship it is. So they astronomers, other countries ect, called it a ufo. When people see one, it was probably the usa just testing the stelth bomber/fighter. And maverick, u said u seen one? well the stelth bomber/figher can come from the usa to europe and back in 1 trip

In my field of paper flowers..
okay, i believe in ghosts. i actually saw a ghost on a photo. it was an orb.

also, a very weird thing has happened to my dad.

so it was a summer day and my dad went to visit grandpa at the hospital (he had stomach cancer). when he came back home it was about 5:00. at 5:30, like out of nowwhere a thunderstrom came. it was fierce, but didnt last long. after it ended, my dad went to talk to an employee at the train station (grandpa was the station master). the employee said he received a phone call from the hospital. grandpa died at 5:30, exactly the time the thunderstorm started.

this story is true. i wonder how you explain it.

Sounds like Beethoven's death do me. He also died exactly the same time as a thunderstorm began. Then and again, Beethoven was well known for his fierce temperament... It's weird, strange, and rather unexplanable (for now).
