OVerheating computers sucks

So i'm back finally after a long bout of making a new computer....so hi to all those that have joined too....

This thread is for people who have had problems with their compts in a physical manner. plz post i love to hear form you guys.

I recently had my computer tip over while it was running and now it is ****ed.... I still use it though, as long as it plays Starcraft, opens IE, runs Ad-Aware 6.0, Runs Adobe Photoshop 7.0/Cinema 4D, lets me use Instant Messaging programsm. I'll be fine.... haha

My XP computer always shuts down on me like 5 minutes into Starcraft. I go into the settings and it says that the cpu temperature is around 190 degrees fahrenheit. So I have to use the crappy ME computer for games.

Do you guys not have fans? (Not meaning to be mean) If you wan't just go to circuit city or like radio shack. I thought they sold fans.

What exactly is ****ed about that? sounds like it runs fine to me...

Meh, my parents bought an IMac, and now it crashes like 3 minutes after I start to play Diablo 2. When I feel the top of it it feels like it's going to explode.

God, I hate Macs, it's only like 2 years old and it's already ****ed up...

Yea no kidding, that's why I said I hate it. And my parents say we don't need a new computer...meh, idiots. It's totally ****ed, it crashes all the time...man my parents are so stupid.

Anway, on topic, yea it overheats all the time, that's why I have to use this PC...but it's not mine so I can't play Diablo 2 or anything on it. Meh.

Here's what you do:
Open the ****ing MACshit, take out the parts, scavenge any PC working ones, sell the rest, build your own PC, and throw the ****ing MAC case at your parents and giggle your little ass off

MACS = move at the speed of chrisuk on ****ing PCP

lmao, i remember my old PC got so hot that i couldnt have the casing over the tower. so i left the computer without it, and it heated my room sometimes past 100 degrees. finally, my graphics card gave in and began breaking. my whole monitor would fuzz up into blocks on certain parts of the screen, and at one point the only game i could play on it was d2, but only for about 50 minutes after turning it on, before it overheated again, and the cycle started again. finally, my graphics card stopped working completely, and that was the death of my old computer.

then i got this beaut on the last christmas.

Macs are good for some things. From my experiance they are much, much better working with graphics applications. My school (MinuteMan Tech) have a couple of G4s in the graphics department and from my few days with them, I would rather use a mac then windows.

In most cases that is true. However if you are a gamer like me, windows is the OS to use. If windows was more reliable and had some tougher security (work on a more secure browser for one) it could very well compete with Linux on that level. However I doubt it will ever happen.

Well if you think about it, most people buy pre-built computers, and those mostly come with the newest version of windows, and there is a new very only like every 2+ years. Long horn won't most likely be coming out till at least 2006.

Yeah, linux has literally hundreds of different OS's.

I can get Diablo II running on linux perfectly by using WineX...so that's all I care about

ive never found the need for a linux, nor have i understood the whole "SCREW PC GET LINUX" rage. about the only thing ive heard from linux fans is "PC SUCKS". ok, can you tell me why linux is any better? ive used a linux several times. about the only difference is cooler names of programs, and some cooler games that come with the OS. my PC hasnt crashed since my purchase last christmas, so i dont see why linux not crashing makes life any better. but literally everything works on windows, and not as much on linux, so from my point of view sticking with PC is the way to go.

I don't personally use Linux, but all my friends that do say it's more stable.
