They generated 2-3x more AFTER he died. Go look it up on sales of records per year.

Oh, and 0rc, I have all the nirvana cd's, and just about all of the songs sound the same, and that's not just comming from me. Maybe 95% is exagerating a bit, it's more like 94% :rolleyes

Okay, let me clear things up, because now that I'm flame king it gives me the excuse to think I have some kind of authority, and I can also be EVEN more arrogant.

So yeah, Nirvana:

1) They were popular way before Kurt shot himself.

2) He wouldn't be WORSHIPPED if he didn't shoot himself. He would still have the same number of fans but I seriously doubt if they'd be as fanatical.

3) His music is over-rated.

4) Doesn't mean it isn't good. His stuff helped get me into rock music way back at the wee age of 8 years old. They were one of the first records I've bought. Their music wasn't very deep, but it made up for that fact by being quite catchy. They were a good band, but I with a large universal appeal. And I thought the unplugged CD they did was seriously bad ass.

That said, there's better stuff out there. Anyways, there's my 2 cents no1 cares about.

Why would you have all the CD's if you didn't like them. Name 2 songs that are axactly the same.

He isn't worshipped. I just think that Nirvana was a good band then and a lot of the songs are still good to today's standards. A lot of bands today don't cold a candle to Nirvana. I like Nirvana, not just Kurt.
3) His music is over-rated.
Bullshit.

Are you blind? His music is overated.

People don't deserve high ratings because of their death. That my friend, is bullshit.

Because I used to listen to them, until I realized how bad they sucked.

Wow... sure... 95% of their songs sound the same... Sliver and Heart-shaped Box sound so much alike :rolleyes

Nirvana wouldn't have gained such attention if people didn't already like them before Kurt Cobain died. I don't hear people pouring over Hole's albums after Kristen Pfaff died.

I liked them before I knew about the death. I wouldn't give 2 shits if a opera dude died. Or someone off ****ing s club 7 died. I like their music, get it throught your heads; it's not just because kurt died.
I know. It's like people today want celebrities to die.
I couldn't give a shit about other people that have died.

Now I'm not a historina just a crazy fan. And yes, the title he is looking for is Smells Like Teen Spirit. That's twice I've told him that.

Some songs may sound similar yes, but never really the same.

To me Kurt was a visionary, an artist, and a brilliant man, who didn't deserve to die so soon. Kurt embodies everything that grunge meant, grunge was, and grunge ever will be.
