When it says they got their software out of Europe...instead of from the production line themselves, yeah...that pretty much rings some bells for me ;)

Who said my link was not legit? Who says that its illegal?

JD, i know it can be suspicious, but arent they all? It doesnt automatically mean that it is not legit.
(these posts better be split)

Anyway the evidence is not in your favor ST. Just give it up. The site is obviously fake, so just move on.

I aint giving it up, i dont care if you buy it from there or not, all i know is that there is little evidence on your side, but not enough to make it illegit.

Well Shafted, I can tell you right now that there are illegal OEM sites out there, I told you that before I even saw AxL's "evidence". But I can assure the both of you that OEM software isn't illegal if it is the real copy and the business is givin permission by the manufacturer (I'm supposing that's how that system works.)

And AxL, you asked for some input on your computer, the Athlon 64-bit is a waste of money for probably another few years.

I suppose so, too. I guess that is a sign to drop it?

And yes, as JD said, there is no need for a 64-bit processor right now as there is no applications needing it, but do as you like.

A few years ROFL. It will be less then a year before there is a working 64 bit windows released. Games have already started to use 64 bit for the advantage. It also isn't much more expensive then a 32 bit P4 CPU.

Anyways AxL I personally think spending $200 on a copy of xp pro is ridiculous, so I don't see why you wouldn't pirate it.
I don't feel like going through the hassle of pirating my OS. Even if there wasn't a hassle, for $140 Windows Pro isn't that bad of a deal. I save $100 by going with the OEM and not the retail.

Btw thanks for the link. I will be looking around that store a bit.

Edit: Looked at the cases, and none really appealed to me.

You should probally look and see if you can find a site that sells student copys, if you can show proof you are a student you can usally get stuff cheap.

For instance I got my copy of xp pro from the medical school my step-dad gives lectures to for $5 because he has a school id.

Alright ordered my rig last night. Should be here anytime from the end of the week to early next week. Here are the final specs:

*- I already own that part. Thus it doesn't cost any more. I only provided a link to newegg for you to know what it is.

**- This monitor cost me an arm and a leg and I hope to god it was worth the money (all reviews I have read gave very positive impressions).

I don't see a point. My speaker system is only 5.1. Untill I upgrade my speakers (which won't be for a long time) a 5.1 card is all I need.

thats a sweet screen, Axl...though I do have to agree with ProXie...a 16ms response time does seem much for FPS gaming...(though it'll be fine for slower stuff)

(btw...id NEVER get an LCD from some online store...the whole dead pixels thing is just not worth the risk...id rather go to a store and test an LCD for dead pixels before buying it)

...oh...and you're making me jealous...

I bought the monitor because of several reasons over a CRT. All people I have talked to on the hard forums have widely suggested it. I also read a awsome review which gave absolutely no faults with it. I also need the space on my desk, and having a smaller monitor that is no doubt better then my 5 year old HP CRT will certainly give me a smile. Although until I get to use it this is all talk.

Here is the review if you want it

Looks like a good setup to me. I dunno if I would have chosen that case. Just seems to me that lots of pple (atleast ones I know) have those types of cases. When I chose a new case a few months ago, I wanted one that was truely like nothing I had seen before. That's why I went with this.
But I guess you can choose whatever case makes you happiest. :p

AxL gets yelled at for spending an extra 100 bucks on an OS and not an extra 100 bucks on a processor...haha. Yes, 200 some bucks for a 64-bit compared to a processor under 100...i'd say its a bit pricey ;)
