Mike got banned because he's nothing more than a cynical person that feeds off of other people's reactions to his attempts at being an ass. He's been like this for years, yet never was kept away. I say it's about time, and good riddance.

Anyways..thanks for the welcome back from the whole 3 people that gave me one.

Well, I think if people only are going around trolling it would be restricted to the Asylum. Thus if all they are doing is posting in the Asylum why would they be even considered for a staff member? I think having a forum with NO RULES (With exceptions such as porn) is a great way to have people not lose it and do these things OUTSIDE the Asylum. If we have a strict no flaming anywhere I guarantee people are eventually going to start flaming. Its just a natural human thing. Granted the asylum has severely degraded since the birth of this forum I still do believe it is a necessary part of it.

Really I believe to have a forum with no restrictions as to what you can say to a nother member is really required. Tensions are going to build and if people can’t take it out on each other what are they going to do? Quit, or get banned.
Here's something to think about: What happens if you have "tension" with someone (Oh, I don't know, your boss, mother, teacher...) in you real life? Do you call them a ****ing faggot prick? (Generally no).

No you release it in some other way, because you HAVE to and it is NOT accepted socially.

But the rules socially are different on the internet. Trolling is part of the social code. I believe it is very unproductive to have trolling everywhere which is why I think it should be strictly kept in the Asylum but preventing people from sharing their opinions is ridiculous. Sure you might not say something to someone's face in real life but do you keep your opinions about someone to yourself all the time? I think not. Its much more reasonable on the internet to not keep your feelings towards someone a secret.

There's a difference between sharing your opinions and flaming someone.

1) Eric is still an admin. He however, felt that max could get BF going again, better than any of us...so with that...he told crooked, and max is now the owner.

2) No where. We're really going to be discouraging flaming from now on.

and jason, welcome back :)
hate to say it..but thats probably one of the best ideas weve had in a while

True. But what I am saying is share your opinion in a more civilized way in the general forums and if it really bothers you use the Asylum to truly express it. Its just that sometimes the line between expressing your opinion and flaming becomes very blurred. With this new set of rules it seems that you are not allowed to make any attacks at someone at all. Which I am fine with as long as there is a place where we CAN make attacks at someone without fear of being banned or having our posts deleted. And not have any "no flaming moderators or staff" bull****.

Flaming staff and members is an inevitiability, there will always be conflict.

The problem with the Asylum back then was that flaming diverted the topic and basically made it spam. I can take an example.

There was one thread with Jenny flaming me about the wavs that X posted. About me needing to find a girl and **** because they thought I was a no-life nerd (which I still dont see how it will help). Anyways, it started with me. Then Jenny posts a picture of herself and gets everyone to flame her, then Vad says something witty and everyone bashes him. This was all done in 2-3 pages.

It is hard in the Asylum to differenciate spam from content there. Especially in Callout threads like the one above. The only reason I want it back is because it was the only means of activity we had at the time and it was somewhat a funny place where people would let off some steam. Or produce activity in some cases, like X and Jenny do.

Ironically, that spam made the Asylum what it is.

Those of you that have only stayed to flame other people might as well not come back.

Looks liek Jenny is working on her retirement letter.

Besides, we still have the void for that crap.

I left for the very things that are now being changed so it looks like there's no reason for me not to come back. Hey..guys..listen..this time around why not make BF viewable as a friendly and welcome place? Let's put our stupid past behind us, and head in a new direction. Sound cool? =D
Hi Jason, welcome back I guess. :p

It's just a matter of time till someone slips, calls him a fattie, and he spams the forum.

I like it. It's alot prettier than the others. I don't see how SC:G being canceled has anything to do with it LOL
