Age of Empires IS a lot of fun, but it can be a little repetitive. I don't know much about AoE3, but I used to play a lot of AoE2 and its expansion...and in spite of having so many "civilizations," there's very little in the way of differences between them.

Guild wars was pretty ****. It is a watered down action RPG. Without the ten expandsions or whatever, all items are exctly the same making picking **** up stupid. There are only like three different armors and they only provide defense that goes up each time by huge amounts. Spells and skills are stupid, although at any time you can just take all your skills out of one and transfer it to an other, but this removes any semblance of strategy games like Diablo II had with skills. IT was also incredibly boring, and certain parts you needed a group of competent people (and finding them on a guildwars server is impossible.)
plus levels were capped at 20. which was stupid.

I played GW for a good 2 years and became quite the infamous lady on there. The PvP is the whole subject of GW, and if you're not PvPing in the game then its a complete waste. But the game is now completely dead and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone now. The game was amazing in its peak, now its dead and bleh.
